I have a stock height 2wd with stock wheels running a tired set of 31x10.50r15s with a small amount of rubbing on inner fender at full lock.

I'm planning on a 2" spacer lift from 4x4 designs, xterra supercharge wheels with at least 33's, 1 to 1.5" spacers up front (should pull them away from the strut enough, info on this would be greatly appreciated) and some minor fender trimming if needed.

Here is my current set up.

Hey man, just want to know the size of the rims and the backspacing you have on your Pathfinder? Are the 15"x8" +3.75?

I am having a little trouble matching tires and rims to clear my strut and need help!!!!!

I already have 285/70/17 Goodyear Wrangler Duratac's in excellent shape. As well as 17X8 with 4.25' BS Pro Comp rims, and 1.5" spacers have been ordered. The more I dig into it I feel like these aren't going to fit? I have a 4" subframe drop installed as well.

HELP!!!!

Thanks for the response. I just realized my error. I was looking at almost two identical rims except one was a -6 offset and the other was a -44. I thought I ordered the -44 offset 17X8 but got the -6. Looking at the rim now even with the 1.5" spacer I don't think it will clear the strut and I will need to exchange the rims for the -44 offset.

Love the look of your setup. I have the same color Pathfinder now. Did you need any wheel spacers? Does it rub the strut or the fender? I'm thinking of doing a very similar setup on mine now.

Year: 1998
Lift : 2" AC Lift + 1" strut spacer
Wheels : American Racing Sawblades 15x8.5 3.5" bs
Tires : BFG A/T 35x12.5x15
Notes: I put a lot of work into the wheel wells to make this work. I opened up all of the fenders by about 1.5 inches and ground down the pinch seams behind the front tires and rewelded them so they had a lower profile. I set the rear bump stops with 1.75 inch spacers to keep from rubbing at full up-travel. After all of this I had no rubbing due to travel but a decent amount of rubbing at right turn due to the fuel line shield that sits outside the frame in the passenger front wheel well. I drive this daily and can deal with the right turn rub although it can be a pain in the parking lots sometimes. After adding the fender flares I do rub on the flares a little during up travel but its worth it to me to not have water and mud flinging everywhere.

So after doing some research and all im still confused. Im going with 31x10.50r15's. Im getting new 15x8 wheels but im still unsure on the backspacing. I plan on lifting in the end anyway but for right now keeping it stock. Which backspacing is better? 3.75 or 4.00 and can someone please explain or show me the visual difference?

simply get a soft 8 or rock crawler rim with 3.75" BS. This will provide sufficient strut spacing and is the most commonly found BS size. And if you ever needed or wanted wider, you can always add wheel spacers. If you get what you said above for dimensions and sizes, then you will sit like Ferrariowner and need to trim just a tad of the fender liner as the 31's will rub at stock height. A quick google search will provide you the answers to your other query:

Thank you so much for the info and yeah i finally got it cleared up thanks. Is anyone on here running the AC 2inch lift with 31's? Curious to see what that would look like or if i need to plan on larger tires. The jeep I had previously had a 4.5 inch lift with 31's and I loved it. It was a jeep zj for reference but it allowed for alot of flex on the trails and didnt look odd with the fender gap.

^^ that's probably the most common setup on R50's so you will find plenty of photos of that. Even just a Google search will show you.

This is mine with 2" lift and 31's last year.
