Air Intake Q for 3.5L

Has anyone with a K&N intake or similar on a 3.5L had any problems with code P1130? It looks like you move the intake hose in the back of the airbox(stock) to the intake tube with the K&N kit?

My mechanic told me the code is from me having holes in the fonr of my airbox and the vacum line can't get vacum once the airbox is no longer seeled. It doesn't make sense though if the K&N kit just moves the vacum line cuz it won't get vacum either.

That mech made no sense at all. I have the drop in filter I love it, because if I get some water in there going through a big puddle or a creek it stay runnig insted if sucking in water, I had some past experiance with that, not very fun.
