  1. Yeh , correct on the $ , but this motor has only 156k on it so will do the repairs and just cop the $ . I'm justed annoyed at myself for not knowing more about this motor as this prob would've been done moths ago . Now sh$t loads of work and time needs to be done .
  2. Have you tried hacksawing the rubber and pushing it out . Worked for mine.
  3. There should be 3 threaded 6mm holes on the front beam and 3 threaded 6mm holes on the beam which supports the front diff . Have re-drilled mine and tapped them 8mm so should work the same for yours .
  4. Had no probs when doing mine , just lifted the upper control arm up with all connected ( minus the lower joint connected ). Just a thought , you don't have a jack or axle stand under the lower control arm which is stopping it reaching it's full movement ? ( could even remove the upper control arm rubber which gives another 1'' of room ) .
  5. Howdy all , Well mines just turned to sh$t , have done a note under my ride . Looks like it's my turn for 4by issues . I hope all is good for the rest of you .
  6. Thanks Matt , Still got rego and insurance to pay for . Have you worked out whats wrong with yours?
  7. Can you guys have a look at the tyre spec sticker in your glovebox and post up what it says , as well as optional tyre sizes .
  8. If you need a pic of mine i'll post a pic .
  9. Congrats on the win and a top picture .
  10. Been on night shift lads so here's the verdict . The engineer was impressed with my work and all that i'd done passed , the thing that failed me was the rear mudflaps needed to be 70mm longer so am going back to him this friday for a final check . I'm wondering now what the weakest link will be , still the steering i guess . Am going to 33's soon ( cause horsepower is not an issue ) .
  11. It's tomorrow at 1pm so fingers crossed everyone .
  12. Hopefully not to much longer and i'll be putting pics of mine up .
  13. It's ME . Well if they have they better of brought over thier 4by's .
  14. Thats one seriously messed up human .
  15. But did a fairy princess turn up with nice hooters and with a can of penetrene .
  16. Passed the noise test today at 83db at 3500rpm
  17. I don't have a db meter so will just have to wing it . It's twin 2'' to behind the transfer case then into a 2 1/2 cat / exhaust and a resinator to help with the noise so i'm hopeing it will pass . Will post db test tomorrow night . G'Day Dan , Welcome to the OZie thread , another perth-ite . Will have to do a run over to the West me-thinks . Matt , what brand of rubber you getting ( spelling ) .
  18. Have you tried Rhino racks or Loadrail .
  19. Morning all , 8 days to go YEH . Doing the noise test tomorrow arvo at 4 , 90db at 3500 or less to pass so fingers crossed . Spent yesterday working on a mates Patrol , the long range tank was to low so we removed the angle supports 50x50x 2.5 and redrilled 50x50x6 angle flipped it and rewelded it 60mm higher to push it up because of the body lift . started on lifting the towbar but ran out of light . Will take a pic when all finished .
  20. Have 4 spare BFG Muds but the frieght whould suck to perth . Should of dropped in on the way over dude lol .
  21. Evening Lads , Looks like fresh rubber is catching on , the GF's lancer got new alloys and rubber yesterday will have to wait for mine after the engineer . Matt , 10 offset is that - 10 to widen the wheel track ( IFS is 25mm track width extra maximum in NSW ) or + 10mm which whould allow 8.5'' wide rims legal which mean 35'' tyres ???? . Or are they offering a 0mm offset which keeps everything legal ( RTA and Insurance ) with a 15 x 8 rim which will fit a 10.5'' to 13'' wide tyre . Am going through this at the moment with RTA and engineer to make the 4by at the max wheel track without using a custom rim which will allow up to 35'' rubber ???? :):) ???? . Dave , being sick sucks so all the best with the family mate .
