  1. Today I took off my Blizzak 17" tires and replaced them with my Michelin 16" tires, even though we got 13" of snow two days ago. I know I don't have cool rims, just factory LE and SE rims, but they work for me so I am happy with them.

I'm tired of winter and an putting on my summer tires no matter what Mother Nature does.

  2. No, my HD works just fine other than the front speakers. I took a HU out of a 2004 and put it in my 2002 and even though the front speakers work perfectly in the 2004, they do not in my 2002.

There must be a connection where the harness out of the HU splits off to the door speakers and that much be where the open connection is. Right now it's too cold to completely tear the truck apart just to find that spot, which is why I was hoping someone here already knew where it was.

  3. not to kick a dead horse, but does anyone know if there is a connection for the front speakers somewhere between the back of the head unit and the doors?

New head unit, still no front speakers from either side, so somewhere there is a open connection before the speakers in the doors as well as the tweeters. I know the tweeters run off the amp for the door speakers.

  4. I guess I am going to give up on the Bose Radio in my 2002 Pathfinder and put in a replacement.

I would like some real world suggestions from the forum from those that already have replacement stereo's in their R50's. I would like the pros and cons of a touch screen, vs a traditional stereo, other than the obvious cost difference.

I have no interest in window rattling volume, just a nice sounding stereo that gets good radio reception, both AM and FM. I was completely satisfied with the stock Bose radio before it decided to no longer function properly.

  5. FWIW, the bushings may have different numbers, but I could not see any difference between any of them including the pan hard rod. When I checked the bushings in the pan hard rod, they were not as bad as the control arms, but still softer than the new ones were.

Also, my 98 was purchased in CA just a year before I did the job, so that my be why there was not much of a problem getting the bushings out.

  6. I wish I would have seen this earlier. I recently removed my working Bose and all the speak rs (which worked fine) but I threw them away :( I would have just givne them to you if you paid shipping.

That would have been perfect, I would have gladly paid the shipping just so I don't have to tear everything apart to replace the system.

  7. Did my 98 a while ago, purchased the bushings from Nissan, took off the control arms and the pan hard rod. I pressed the old bushings out (used an old snowmobile piston) and pressed the new ones in.

Took about three hours using a Harbor Freight press and a hoist that allowed the wheels to hang free.

It was actually pretty easy, I did use heat on two of the bushings getting them out (the metal sleeves were rusted to the arms) but them came out without a lot of work.

  8. Well I put my Bose radio in another 2002 R50 and all the speakers work just fine, so any ideas what else could be causing the issue with only the front four speakers not working?

  9. The vehicle looks very clean, I purchased my 2002 SE 5-Speed last year for $8,000, but it only had 42,000 miles on it, which is why I paid more than it listed for in KBB. Since the one you are looking at has four time that in mileage, I would not go over $5,000 and actually try to get it for $4,500.

2002 is the last year Nissan made Pathfinders with a 5-Speed, so it depends on how much you want a standard transmission over an automatic.

  10. Great. I removed the HU and all connections on the rear are secure! Anyone have a HU from a 2002 that is functional they want to sell? I really don't want to deal with a complete overhaul of the sound system, I just want the speakers to function.
