FYI: Ive had the AC 2" springs up front and 9449 in the rear for the last 2 years. The rear was noticeably taller (3.25" lift overall). The rake made it feel a lot more unstable in the rear end.
Today I cut a coil and a half off each rear spring. Now it sits almost perfectly level and feels much more stable.
I tow with my r50 almost daily and notice very little sag with these springs unless I have a really heavy load in the trailer.
Thanks for this. i myself have OME HD, Fleury +1, and 9449 combo for almost 3 yrs now and have strongly been considering cutting a coil to address the rake.
i do agree that there is very little sag when towing an 18ft boat or loading the back with pavers. Another thing to share is that this setup really carries heavy loads well and actually feels more planted than driving the car empty.

R33 GTST brake calipers
Unfortunately these use smaller 19mm bolts and would either need the following to run safely:
- sleeves through the knuckle, or
- re-thread/tap? the calipers to fit the bigger 22mm bolts.- 5

1st time towing since the LR9449 install. Handles way better but I now need a drop hitch. Lol- 6

What? I mean no offense, but what you have stated is not only is confusing but completely irrelevant to OP’s initial question.

These are what you’re looking for:

I wish I saw this post before I hit send on my long winded reply. Lol -
To further expand, I had a lowered r50 when it was on old worn and saggy suspension. I’ve since refreshed the suspension to the Combo mentioned earlier which lifted the truck. If you look into feedback with using ome front springs and Land Rover springs in the rear somewhere in the forums, you will find a big increase in both off road and on road performance.
I’ve been playing with a Nissan 240sx for the last 16years with 3 chassis with full coilovers and adjustable arms.
I can tell you the pathfinder’s Macpherson setup is similar to the 240sx while the rear Solid axle I similar to an AE86 corolla and mustangs 2014 and older.
I don’t remember any aftermarket support to lower the pathfinder so you will have to be creative with your solution. Most lift kits discussed in this forum include increased spring rates to support added weight from steel bumpers and other overlanding gear. On its own the increased spring rates on-road performance aside from the lift raising the center of gravity.
So theoretically you can look up “Bax03Se”
Username and what he did to his rig with custom springs up front and Land Rover springs in the back and cut to your desired height.
You will want a stock length or shorter shocks/struts. The rears May be easy but the front will be involved. You will have to consider the axle angle if you want to keep 4wd. And since they only make OE style front struts you will have to find ones for another car that is shorter and weld in the ears to mount to the stock knuckle and reuse Oe style top hats.
I’m not sure how serious or dedicated you are to this idea. But if you are, I definitely would love to see the end result. -
Mine were lowered from old saggy springs before I opted for the OME/LR spring combo No cutting required. Ride quality not included. Lol

The only issue with that is I do have a clutch. So I would have to run it through the fender liner which I’ve already done multiple times. Would I be able to cut the hot wire run that to my switch and then run it back to where the other end of the hot would go to the fuse? I’m low on space and can’t really pull the tire if I’m running to the battery. My fuse is inside the cab under the steering wheel
Cut into the line anywhere between the ecu and fuel pump. I haven’t done it in an R50 but I’ve done it in other cars and I used to just cut the line right off the ecu to add the switch

You got ome heavy duty springs, could you compress them yourself with rental compressors or did a shop do it? Also what was your total lift upfront and have you jacked the tires off the ground and rotated them to see if there was and binding? Also why heavy duty springs over med, i don't think they provide more lift do they?
Yes, i rented a spring compressor from Autozone. Make sure that it is in good condition and isn't missing any washers. As for using the tool, take your time and switch sides every 5-10 turns to avoid binding. You have to compress the springs at least 5" IIRC.
As for total lift, its at F: +2-7/8" R: +4-1/2"
OE Before AfterF: 31.26" 31" 33-7/8"
R: 31.89" 31-3/4" 36-1/4"HD springs only provide higher spring rates, no additional lift.
On another note, I have more rake than i would like, now my headlights are pointed down and I'm at the limit of the QX4 electronic headlight adjustments. Been considering cutting off a coil to get closer to the OE rake.
@02_Pathy what is your rake measurement?

The shocks I just recommended offers 29.7” extended height vs. the 25.9” from the one you listed.
I’d recommend checking TowndawgR50’s setup just Incase.
Also your 35” setup sounds interesting. Do you mind sharing pics?

I have the following shocks from @02Pathy . I believe he upgraded from the set you listed above.
I’m at 36.5” fender to ground height on 265/65r17s and LR9449 springs

I have an 01 qx and seems to tow my 18ft bayliner just fine over the last 5yrs with OEM suspension.
I’ve done a few Uhaul trailers here and there and seemed ok as well.
Though I don’t have any experience towing with other vehicles so I can’t compare it to anything.
I’m using an off the shelf tow hitch, the only complaint I have is the clunks you get when towing or on bumps.- 1

Thanks and too late. I was only supposed to fix the sag. Now my better half thinks it’s “too tall”

+1 on keeping the strap. Another option is use ratcheting strap as I did, since I cut the strap too soon.

R50 Steering shaft column options
in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Posted
I've been dealing with steering issues at highway speeds where the tires would track left or right depending on the road as well as a numb feeling and delay in input. I've just about replaced every control arm front and rear and steering rack bushing. By now I'm convinced the sloppiness is because of the rubber bushing/damper in the steering column itself. Unfortunately, i only see a complete steering shaft column replacement https://ebay.to/3RsEMtn.
Ideally, id prefer a polyurethane or solid aluminum replacement instead, similar to this part available for S13 240sx https://bit.ly/3AG7cZD. or maybe even completely replace the shaft column with just u-joints with the parts from woodwardsteering.com from @hawairish 's thread in https://bit.ly/3Q5XvJy
With that said, i wasn't able to find anything here or online about it. Has anyone here noticed this issue and/or found other solutions?
