  1. I’m know this has been discussed, and i’ve seen people do it, but would like input from those who have done it before. Is there anyway to add the 1 inch spacer without taking the entire strut apart? I know the lip of the top perch restricts removal of the old bolts, but what if you were to cut the old bolts in half then put the new hardware through the top? Would it be worth the trouble? i know both ways have their own difficulties.

The only person i can think of who has done the OME spring with spacer off the top of my head is @02_Pathy

  2. Yeah unfortunately 2wd. Though with enough know how you can still have fun. An extra 2 inches is a good start.

If you get a locker in the back, you’ll see that thing surprise everybody you wheel with. i’ve been with 2wd tacoma’s that have a stock e-locker and they amaze me every time.

  3. I got lucky with my spacer lift, didn't need camber bolts.
Now that I've gone with lifted springs, things are different... I will need camber bolts according to the wheel alignment technician.

The results should be the opposite... what springs did you go with? is it springs and spacers or just springs?

  4. I had a set of rugged ridge knock offs from eBay on my pathfinder. I don’t know what others would say about the durability of the construction, but if you’re mostly on the road then I think they would work well. They worked well for me at least. Plus for the money, I thought they were a great deal. I never personally had a problem with chrome peeling but I also only had them for about 4 months. My wheels also limited my choice of manual hubs considering I wanted to keep my stock rim and most others would not fit through the center of the wheel.

  5. So. Many. Pathfinders.

That’s so awesome man. I hope one day I can find a way to make it up there and finally be able to meet some of the faces behind the names!

Also, your pathfinder is hands down one of my favorites. Everything you did, you did it so cleanly. Everything has a purpose and is functional. Crazy sweet truck man!

  6. Thanks man, that’s exactly that I was thinking it had to be

I found that section of the tube on amazon  for 30 bucks. It’s just the part that goes on the throttle body, no resonator or anything else, but if I can chop the old one off then I can reuse the old resonator and stuff with the new one, so I might buy it

Try a junkyard? Or search Craigslist for parting out pathies?

  7. So after doing the entire lift I would say that as long as you have the right tools then it isn’t too bad.

With the back all I had to do was take off the shocks, and the sway bar end links and the axle dropped down just enough to fit the springs in with no problem.

The front wasn’t too bad either but a million times easier with a friend. I did one side alone and the other with a friend and it cut the installation time to about half.

Struts are in, spring compressor gets here tomorrow along with the OEM strut mount + bearing, bellows, and bumpstops. AC and LR springs get here next early next week. Already have the Bilstein sitting in the garage. Gonna begin the Install next Wednesday, first day off for thanksgiving break.

Nope, AC is its own brand.  You can only get them from 4x4parts.com, aka Automotive Customizers (AC).  AC sells OMEs, but they mask brand names on practically everything.  The springs they sell for around $167 are OMEs; the $180 ones are their house brand.

Okay that makes more sense thanks
