  1. No puddles. Just smell it outside the car when I park after a drive. I'll look around talk to the auto parts store.
  2. I can't smell it inside the cabin, just outside when I park and get out. UV dye huh? That shows under a blacklight? I've got a blacklight flashlight. Where can I get it? I haven't run hot yet.
  3. If they're good, you can't push them in by hand much....
  4. I'd like to learn more about that last QX4. Is it someone here? I like the lights installed down there with the fog lights, tires, rear tire carrier, roof lights, etc. I'd just like to learn more about that build.
  5. I'm not sure how this works? I'll google it and see what I find. This looks advanced....
  6. That's how it should work. When they get low and don't work I head to the local pull-a-part and find some new ones.
  7. I had an oil leak and it took a while to fine them all. The first was the valve cover. The phillips head screws don't seem to hold as tight as a real bolt. Almost every time I check them one or two will take a turn. The other source of my oil leak was a cam seal. I didn't find that one until I changed the timing belt and that leak ran all the way down to the bottom of the engine. Never would have guessed or even thought of it. I had a rear main seal leak on an Jeep XJ. Luckily it was a 2 piece replacement so all I had to do was drop the pan.
  8. Thanks mjotrainbrain! I feel like I need to get the coolant leak solved first.
  9. I snapped a quick pic this morning. Nothing special (yet), but she's faithful.
  10. I could use a little help. I've got a 98 QX4 with the 3.3. It's all stock. I have a small coolant leak somewhere, but I can't find it. If I drive it for a little while I can smell it and after about a week of driving to and from work it is approximately a pint low on coolant. The cap is good and I can't see any obvious leaks. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot? I'm a decent at-home garage mechanic once the problem is diagnosed, but identifying what is the problem is sometimes my weakness.
  11. Hi! I own a 1998 Infiniti QX4 with 202000 miles or so. I've owned it since about 2002, I honestly can't remember. I had a 1997 that I bought in 2000. When I wrecked it, I bought a new one just like it. Today's it's my "extra" car that I use to go camping or hunting or just to the farm. I've done a lot of preventative maintenance to it over the years and it still cranks the first time with no issues. It does have a few things that need repairing - the AC doesn't work, it needs tires, the cruise control doesn't work and it has a small coolant leak that I can't seem to locate. But, over all I really like it and plan to just keep it forever. I can't believe I've never found you guys. I've been a member of NICOforums for years, but they are mostly car people. R50 people don't get much attention. Glad to be here. Seems like I'd have a photo somewhere, but I couldn't find one.
