If it weren't for the fact that the Rancho 9000XL shocks don't fit on my '97, I would have used them instead of the Bilsteins, simply because of the adjustability. That being said, the Bilstein 5150's I have now are pretty good.
I have an '05 Sequoia, on which I installed Rancho 9000XL's, where they are working quite well.

If you're planning to get Rancho shocks for the rear, get 999010. The 999112 are not valved firmly enough for the R50. (No Rancho 9000XL shocks are recommended for 96-99 R50 models due to the fact that the wider shock body can be dented by the panhard rod bracket when stuffing the left wheel and dropping the right. The modified shock mounts on 99.5-04 models do not have this issue.)

My Pathy is a 2000 3.3L... So i think i would not have problem with the panhard rod braket

I always like the R50, they are not cheap in here... Spare parts are easy to find and expensive, accesories are hard to find and expensive, insurance is expensive, gas is expensive... hahahahahaha
Anyway... I like the design... The ride... And it is a very capable truck... Under rated... But very capable...

I have seen lots of youtube videos... Never seen a Pathy on OB...
Maybe in the future i will buy a OB badge, they look nice...

Over here, on my way to work (15km) I see at least 5 to 10 R50s... Not so much WDs... Few years ago I think there were more R51s, but not these days... The new ones, R52s... I think they are not so popular... They look like Hundays... Hahahahahaha
People like a lot 4Runners, Prados and Cruisers, all models... And Mitshubishis, Montero (Pajero)...

I keep searching... And I am no shure about which rear shocks to buy... Should I go with Rancho 9000XL (part number RS999112) or Bilstein 5100 (part number 33-185552)
Any thoughts? BWT are these the correct part numbers?

For struts, I do not believe anybody makes extended ones; if you are running longer than stock coils the best you can do is get struts that are more heavy duty.
I do not know their part number, but are these the Rancho shocks you're looking for?

I have the KYB's on a 2in spacer lift..... 98 QX4
absolutely love the (ride it is my daily driver). and it soaks up bumps and such very well. About to complete the 4x4, so i'll be thrashing pretty heavily every weekend haha
i'll keep you posted. here are the part numbers for the KYBs
Front: 335015 and 335016
Rear: 343388 x2
Does KYB has extended struts?
Or Rancho, OME or Bilstein?

I have been reading about struts rear shocks... Rancho, ProComp, KYB, Bilstein...
I have 1.5" spring lift in the front and 1.5" spring + 1" spacer in the rear.... I am not sure which struts I have.. But they are standard size, i thing... At the rear I have KYB Gas-A-Just (the grey ones) and they are standard size... So I need to change them, so they fit the spring lift... I like the ride of these shocks because they feel stif...
Some of you have been using or used Rancho 9000XLs, KYB ExelG, ProComp, etc... And I read some topics about it.. But they are like 3, 5 or more years old...
To the date pros and cons of these shocks and struts? Part numbers?
Is it worth it to expend on the Rancho 9000XLs (9 levels), or something more simple?
BTW mu Pahty is a 2000-R50-3.3L, MT.

So, we are getting a tow hitch and making our own front tow points to use in conjunction with (a non debilitated friend) and a recovery strap?
Or can you leave us a link to your next TOW job?

I've used the front tow-hooks as recovery points frequently. As mentioned above, they should be sufficient as long as you're not overzealous like this guy:
Also, understand the difference between a tow strap and a snatch strap and how to use them.
For the rear recovery point, if you don't have a D-ring hitch, you can insert the tow strap into the receiver and secure it in place with the hitch pin.

I undeerstand that Snatch strap is used for recovery... It will stretch +- 20%... Isn't the tow strap the same, or does not have this 20% of elasticity?

I am planning to buy some recovery gear as a bridle, recovery strap, and d-ring hitch receiver. But first things first...
As the R50 is an unibody truck, I have read histories about R50 recovering and being recovered with the tow or recovery points, that have being destroyed... Trowed like missiles...
So my question is... Are the R50 "recovery points" front and rear real recovery points or just tow points?
In the future I am going to install a rear hitch and buy a d-ring hitch receiver for rear recovery... Would that be a good rear recovery point? What about fornt recovery points... I do not want to install a bull bar... Should I use the front points as recovery points using a bridle and recovery strap?
