  1. I bought my Warn Premiums (29091) off of Amazon for $178.99 and free shipping
  2. Very compelling find, now for a similarly cheap spacer in front...
  3. Thanks! Since tomorrow is Friday I figure I'll crawl under the pig and take a look.
  4. My '02 is an SE and has the dead pedal... Couldn't you "fab" one out of wood or something and cover it with some matching carpet? Like a stereo cabinet? Is it that big of an issue? ahahaha
  5. Right, I actually didn't, but the Pathy only has 79k so they should be alrightish... I think the rear suspension is weak by design anyway, I've seen many pathfinders with people in them sagging in the same way. Excellent, just what I was wanting to hear! Was your flex limited by them at all? I would like to do the same if I ever lift. And to others- I'm mainly looking to level out the rear when I have a load, I'm doing multiple 1000 mile+ roadtrips this summer, and would like to prevent the suspension sag.
  6. That's about where my tranny is, I'm not a huge fan of the way it shifts but that's about normal: 1-2 is hard, especially when cold, 3-4 smoother and downshifting from 4-3 is a little rough at all times. I'm getting the tranny flushed, we'll see if there's any change. I get the feeling the tranny is what holds back the power...I can't complain too much though, it's just not up to some of my other frequent drivers.
  7. I have a "Euro Style" replacement antenna on mine like this: http://www.amazon.com/Scosche-RM906R-Rubber-Antenna-Replacement/dp/B0018BOM7W/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1367990977&sr=1-1&keywords=flexible+antenna It's very flexible, has excellent reception, and I like the look, so for $13 I'm happy. Had several adapters that came with it, though I have no idea how it would work with the power original unit. I would think it could be a swap? But don't quote me on that.
  8. I was just curious if you have had any experience with the in-coil style suspension airbags? Do they tear after off road use? Is the ride smooth? etc. etc. Like these: http://www.autoanything.com/suspension-systems/61A2966A0A0.aspx Only $97 I'm looking to beef up the rear end of my pathy- it squats way too much with only people in the back seat. With gear/supplies it's quite noticeable. I already have Bilstein 4600s which I bought a few months ago, so no shock upgrades for me... Thanks!
  9. Sorry for spacing out a bit... Tried that, they didn't move. It definitely still makes the noise on smooth pavement when cranking the wheel while reversing. And going over the cross-axle ditches creates the sound too. Thank you! I'll try that first trick. What exactly do they look like when they're cracked? I'll have to take the skidplate off to check, and the sway bar bushings looked a little iffy, could it be that? Thanks again!
  10. Not in Iowa, but I have the same one. Not to threadjack but does anyone know if a 245/75r16 would fit in the factory location (under rear) as a spare with a trailer hitch?
  11. So how would I check/replace these things? And to CV- they look good on the outside, and considering the noise still appears when I have the hubs unlocked and CVs not turning, that probably isn't it.
  12. Thanks, and that definitely applies to my Pathy Now to wait for the TSB...and avoid getting in an accident.
  13. So is this something we could just pop into a dealer and get fixed like the belts?
  14. My 2002 Pathy 4x4 makes a popping noise when the wheel is fully cranked to the left, specifically at low speeds, and is highly audible when backing out of a parking space for instance. I would describe the sound as almost a creak, but mainly a pop with resonance. I can easily replicate it, and happens the most when in reverse, but also appears when moving forward. I have cranked the wheel fully to the right and left and I see no rubbing, and it seems to emanate from the front passenger suspension. It was there both before and after I installed Manual Hubs. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks -Karmann
  15. As others have said, it's pretty much just the standard procedure. If you have the manual to the car, there's actually a how-to in there with all the torque specs and capacities, it's been really handy for me.
  16. Yes indeed! But I actually put the flaps on after those photos, because I was tired of all the fling, and still no rubbing!
  17. I have 245/75r16 Toyo Open Country AT IIs on my factory 02 SE wheels, NO spacing. I initially had minor rubbing, and I mean extremely minor when at full lock. But it was an extremely easy fix, if you can handle cutting out a piece of paper, you can do it. I just pushed the stock fender well forward, screwed it in place with the factory screws, and cut at an angle a tiny piece of the plastic bumper. Easy as pie. I have a pictures here: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/84010-2002-Pathfinder-(R50)-Build-Thread-by-Allof75/page5 Hope it helps!
  18. My pathfinder is stock height and it has taken every off road challenge I've thrown at it with aplomb. I call it "shockingly capable." I can keep up with and occasionally pass locked and lifted rigs with the right, careful technique, which of course is the key in all off road driving. But the R50 is really the underdog off road extraordinaire- it looks like a mall crawler but it'll do things I never thought it could. And this is with open/open diffs. I want to say all have a 'center diff lock' which apportions 50/50 power to the front and rear axles, but I could be wrong on this. Either way, I only have larger tires (245/75r16 Toyo Open Country AT IIs) and upgraded shocks and struts (rear Bilstein 4600s, front KYB GR-2s) but stock height, and I couldn't be happier. The power advantage over the 4runner 3rd gen is huge (yet is significantly cheaper), and the quality and refinement slaughters the XJ. It fits extremely well on narrow trails, and has nearly identical approach/departure/wheelbase to a new Xterra without costing $25000. I would suggest skidplates if you're not planning on lifting, you can have them made or buy them from 4x4parts like I did: https://www.4x4parts.com/nissan/pathfinder-set-of-skid-plates-p-3455.html *My biased 2 cents* Though before buying mine I test drove Cherokees, Monteros, 4runners, Xterras, Foresters, Land Cruisers, and a myriad of other 4x4s, as well as having experience with a 1st gen explorer, 100 series land cruiser, and thousands of miles off pavement in our current 2003.5 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Hemi.
  19. x2! Very interested if KJ springs work because that opens up a myriad of options! And most likely cheaper. I'd imagine someone just needs to measure and determine spring rates? Any more info is very much appreciated
  20. Changing the belt(s) and building a sleeping platform

  21. Vent visors, tow hitch assembly with shackle attachment, and some odds and ends.
  22. I have 245/75r16 on my 2002, which is the same body style as yours. They're 30.5" and fit really well, all I had to do was some extremely minor trimming in the wheel-wells. They're a little over 9.50 wide and fill up the fenders nicely. I don't think they make many, if any, 31x10.5x16 tires.
  23. I got a quote for a custom Magnaflow single out cat-back, all stainless, at Automotive Excellence, here in Huntington Beach, and it was $375 dumped and another $75 if I wanted a tip. It's definitely on my to-buy list, and it's good to hear it helps mpg.
  24. Chasing a blown fuse; thanks a lot LED dome lights.

I'm hoping I just got a bad set. They were real bright for the 10 seconds they worked!
