  1. Weather stripping helps, shift boot for 4 wheel drive cracks with age, replacing that helps. I had an exhaust gasket go out, that made all sorts of noise till it got hot enough to set the floor on fire. After I replaced it, I could hold a conversation at 65 mph, even with 31 bfg a/ts.
  2. The way I see it. Heavier flywheel = More momentum. The difference between a 20 lb and a 24lb flywheel, now I'm curious if there's much of a difference. Now that VQ flywheel sounds like fun....
  3. Yes, Buick designed the 225 V6 from the 198 v6, which originated in the 215 V8. From there, Buick sold the tooling rights in 1965 to Kaiser Jeep Corporation, and 225s began appearing in 1966.
  4. Coat the underside in motor oil. That's how the front end of my Jeep and Pathfinder was preserved.
  5. I don't really see what's funny about this show...
  6. Definitely stinks, and I echo what others have said, have them right it, but cut him some slack.
  7. Yep, '66-'71, they were factory optional. That's what my '68 has.
  8. Jeeps have had v6s since before the straight sixes. But I definitely agree with that statement. I've taken my '92 to places that some stock Jeeps had trouble.
  9. Not very popular off road vehicles in my area. I'm surprised whenever I see one on the trail. Chevrolet, Jeep, Toyota, Ford, I see those all day, but Nissan Pathfinders are a rare bird in my experience. I used to turn heads in mine, people always thought I was a soccer mom that got lost....Till they noticed the guy behind the wheel.
  10. I'm digging that lift gate idea. My next rig will have that, my old pathy's plastic kept falling out. ((If there ever is a next rig!))
  11. Being a Jeep guy myself, I have no issues saying that my 92 Pathfinder was every bit as capable, and in some areas, even more capable. For it's size, my 92 was nearly unstoppable in 4wd with chains on all four wheels (ice breaker off road only chains) in deep snow.
  12. Never had issues with Rock Auto, that's strange to hear. Hope you can get it sorted out. With this talk of fly wheel resurfacing, I wonder if I should start stockpiling extra 55 pound flywheels for the jeep...
  13. Love the geolanders on street, dirt and rocks. Can't comment on the rain or snow. I had no complaints running 235/75/15s.
  14. 1992 Pathfinder SE 4x4. Final score was 235,155 miles before being parted.
  15. Two of my four projects, soon to be three. Migrating back to JEEPs, just can't keep doing both anymore.
  16. Some Craftsman stuff is US made, some not. Their sockets, open end wrenches, and other similar "old school" tools, are still US made. I have a Craftsman socket set that is completely open, no deep sockets. Made in China. Its decent, that's it. I still reach for my 60s-70s sockets.
  17. I have a flood light/foglight for sale if you want one. I even had one extra clip for the lens. I'll go look tomorrow and see if I still have it, if I do, it's yours.
  18. I just don't understand the need for that kinda power... And you don't need EFI for off road just as much as you don't need one tons. They may fit your application, but you don't need them. That being said, I'm looking forward to your more unique swap. I haven't seen a V8 pathy in a long time.
  19. I seem to recall my grandpa's hardbody having that same sunroof. Keeping it open in the rain almost seemed to keep more water out.
  20. Also, going with what silverton said, could the fins be clogged up, or the radiator itself clogged? My CJ's heater wasn't working so well, so I pulled the core and chunks of crud came out when it was flushed.
  21. My first thoughts are, is the fan clutch going out? Is the radiator stock? Has it handled hot days before? You could always just get a radiator with more cores.
  22. Not trying to complain but I thought this was for Pathfinder discussion? Not for sale? Don't get me wrong, I'm selling Pathy parts too, and I'd like to advertise like this...
