  1. Deep Creep works! I got the lower bolt on the front shocks loose today and replaced both front shocks.
  2. replaced rear shocks that looked like they may have been original equipment (stamped 'nippon' on side). tried to get front shocks done but had trouble loosening lower bolt. sprayed them with deep creep and try again another day
  3. Radiator developed a crack in top plastic tank. Bought replacement rad and hoses from rockauto. Drained, flushed, and filled cooling system with water until I get around to replacing rad and hoses. Replaced windshield washer pump. Took apart rear window washer pump and cleaned gunk out of it so it works again. Removed pass. door speaker pending replacement. Bought 4 shocks, project for another day.
  4. pulled the hvac fan and cleaned out the leaves and dirt.
  5. replaced O2 sensor, tightened pass side valve cover screws, pondered doing the driver side but gave up, crawled under truck looking for parts that need repair/replace. needs shocks brakes and tires
  6. Ordered a new O2 sensor. This will complete the tuneup I started 2 weeks ago. Local auto parts stores wanted over $100. Rock Auto had one with wire and connector for $30. Threw in a new tran mount just because it ships from same RA location(probably need it anyway). total incl shipping $53. RockAuto rocks!!
  7. Drove it 340 miles roundtrip to the piney woods of east Texas and got some nice red mud on it. performed flawlessly. felt good after last weekend's wrench turning to get it past emissions. odo now reads 323,333
  8. New ECTS and new Temp Gauge sender. Ran ECM diagnostic and turned up code '55', operating within normal parameters. Oil change. Took it to get smogged and failed the NOx by a small margin so I took it to the muffler shop and had a new cat installed. Retested and passed. Third times a charm. Then paid the tax man for registration. Good for another year. The Blue Bomber rides again. Long live the Blue Bomber!!
  9. Complete tune up. Cap, rotor, plugs, wires, pcv, air filter. Check timing. Every plug was seized. Good thing I watched the Pat Goss video on how to deal with seized spark plugs. You can bet thet every replacement got anti-seize on the threads before it went in. Banged my head on the front corner of the hood forty-leven times. Fun!! Chased down a Code 13 ECM fault. Not the harness and the thermostat is operating properly so I'm going to the store tomorrow to buy a new ECTS sensor.
  10. changed fuel filter, got the replacement headlight switch in the mail today and installed it. I have high beams! Thanks NPORA for your great advice and technical know-how.
  11. replaced vacuum line on evap cannister, searched for source of gasoline smell, found posts on NPORA to help. Thanks NPORA!
  12. changed air filter, replaced a crushed washer hose, fixed cruise control(little plastic tab on brake pedal was broken), hunted down a headlight fault to no avail, and ordered a new headlight switch, door hinge pins, and brake and clutch pedal pads
  13. Hello, glad to be here. Former boards I've been part of are TCCoA, RIP Miss Pearl, and SaturnFans (not many of us left and I'm on my way out) I love reading forums to read about others experiences and solutions to mechanical issues. Huge advantage having real people with real world solutions as opposed to a Haynes or Chiltons manual. Thanks for keeping this a family friendly site. Much appreciated. Oh and, Howdy from the Lone Star State where the stars really are big and bright in the dead of night, and the coyotes wail on the lonesome trail.
