      x2...it won me over...I didn't think much of it in pictures but seeing it in action made me want one

      if its capable of full time 4wd (can drive on dry roads) then it would need 5 differentials. not 3+2 transfers. each axle needs a differential and then there must be a differential between each axle as well to split the load front/mid/rear to allow slip to drive on dry tarmac. just about all of the awd vehicles that are aimed at 4wd have 3 diffs (front, center, rear) so it makes sense that this would have an extra two for the rear-most axle.

      the diffs inbetween are 1 in/1 out style just to allow a difference in speed between the for and aft shafts. diffs for axles are 1 in/2 out to allow a difference of speed between the wheels parallel each other. hope that explains it well enough
