  1.

Isn't that what this is about, them trying to say that you don't have the right... or "permission" to work on it. Shop or not.

It may start with the consumer, but don't doubt that once they get a little, they will take more.

Many of the repairs to current model year Chrysler vehicles require software updates to complete. These updates are only available through Chrysler's portal called DealerConnect and TechConnect. Unless you work at a dealership, you have to pay for a 48 hour window in which you can access these websites and obtain the software needed. Many independent shops refuse to pay the money required to do that.

So basically, many shops simply cannot fix modern vehicles because they do not have the knowledge, equipment or permissions to do it.

  2. I work at a large dealership. I can see the angle they are trying to use and understand it but I don't agree with it. Shops are just going to have to start ponying up the cash to get the specialized equipment, training and permissions to continue to fix modern vehicles.

Fun fact: Our technicians cost an average of $135,000 to train from apprentice to Master Certified Chrysler Technician.

  3. You have got to do something extremely stupid to damage Amsteel-Blue. If you get a synthetic line make sure it is Amsteel-Blue manufactured by Samson Rope. Don't worry about abrasion. The stuff is designed some of it to happen. It actually protects the Dyneema fibers.

Source: Good friend is an engineer for Samson Rope and another friend owns a Bering Sea fishing boat and uses nothing else. Something else will break before this line.

That said, the Captain uses a 12k Harbor Freight winch on his '78 CJ-5 AMC 360. I plan on using the same on my Frontier.

  4. Well, first I will give the last picture I took of the Pathfinder. She was awesome.

I took this picture 10 minutes after I signed for the Frontier.

  5. i find it hard to believe that a 19 year old engine can get 17 more horse power by those small things, maybe some from the msd but not even 17. one thing that can help gas mileage is put mud flaps in front of your tire (just look at hybrids), and for horse power eneos oil

You better believe it. Everything he said is true. And the MSD will only get you maybe 1/2 hp over a properly functioning, stock ignition system.

Mud flaps in front of a tire? What are you talking about?

  6. Anyone who passes the background check and can cough up $200 can own a suppressor. It's the same for a machine gun, but you must buy a pre-1986 gun that is transferable. Those will run you anywhere from $5000 for a beat up UZI, to $16,000 for a normal wear-and-tear MP5.

To own a machine gun built after 1986 requires a TON of paper work and can only be legally owned by police, govt agency, military or Class II manufacturer.

I plan on getting a suppressor for my AK to make coyote control at my cousin's farm a little less noisy for the animals and neighbors.

  7. Yeah I understand why you care about the seconf amendement.

But even without all the guns you guys have, we can't say Canada is a very dangerous

place to be. Or a difficult place to live

So for me it is a little strange that you need so much a gun

Well, America didn't win it's freedom from the Crown with stern words. And those surely won't keep it.

But Canada still defers to the Crown, so they wouldn't know much about winning absolute freedom.
