  1. I bought a cobra 75 something. Everything is contained in the handset/mic thing (I know, technical terms lol). Just has a little box to mount that it plugs into. I mounted the box under the Driver's side of the dashboard, Just to the left of the radio and keep the mic in the center console for when I need it.

  2. Hey bud and welcome. I can't answer most of the questions as I haven't done my swap yet. New motor is on the engine stand (1996 Pathfinder motor) but this has been documented here by many. Mr.510 sells an adapter to make it plug and play (the motor). I know there is some work with the oil pump pick up tube and possibly on the brackets for the accessories. Don't remember at the moment though. Nefarious has done this swap on a couple of rigs. Maybe he will chime in but search and you will find :)

  3. Productive day today. Swapped over parts from the old 93 into the new 92 again. Ngk ignition wires, non broken accordion intake pipe, replaced all the broken and cracked vacuum lines with new blue silicon lines. Also finished putting the doors back together after adding the defrosting side mirrors.

I also finally tested the custom chipped ecu in my girlfriends truck and it worked first time!! Got to say I'm pretty stoked about that one. Been working at this one for a while now and it's nice to say it's working flawlessly. Next step will be to actually implement some changes in the tune. So far it's running on a programmed eprom chip but with just the factory 95 pathfinder tune. ??

That's pretty awesome, Nefarious. Waiting to see what you come up with.

Changed the oil and filter. Installed my Fumoto quick drain valve. Replaced the Oil Pressure sensor. As my original was leaking something fierce, just used a aftermarket one. Cleaned the MAF with MAF cleaner, and cleaned the TB with TB cleaner. Used a whole can as the 'outside' wasnt bad. But inside was pretty oil soaked, hey 202k miles.

Re installed all the skid plates. I've had them off since last oil change, heh. Topped off other fluids.

Side note, switched from Mobil 1 5W30 high mileage Full Syn to Valvoline 5W30 high mileage Full Syn.

I don't even know where my front skid plate is anymore  . I took it off years ago for some reason. wasn't very useful anyways.

Changed my oil, cleaned the MAF and fixed a broken exhaust hanger. No more exhaust banging around on the trans cross member and the motor seems to respond a bit better. Still need to do the O2 sensor. It just doesn't want to budge.

  4. Damn o2 sensor will come out, one way or another lol. Still need to clean the MAF. Motor runs smooth now, though rich, because of the O2 sensor. I replaced a bunch of vacuum lines but may have missed one or two.

  5. Question about the MAF. What needs to be done to have the motor work with a bigger MAF, not plug and play? Was just talking to my buddy about a bigger MAF on his Mustang (to go with his other upgrades). I have a VG33 sitting in the garage I haven't had time to mess with. I'm thinking of having my buddies shop swap it for me along with the VG30E cams and Mr. 510's adaptor.

  6. Oh right on man. Technologist?? What industry do you work in?

I'm atechnologist myself specializing in industrial automation, but currently I am working in building automation systems. :)

Worked for Intel for 10 years repairing equipment that made the computer chips. Got layed off a few years ago. Now I manage all the military movements for New Mexico. Talk about a career change.
  7. I had a '98 Sentra SE-R for several years. Loved that car but needed a 4 door because my little ones aren't getting any smaller. So I got a 2006 Sentra SE-R SPEC V. It's a great car. Completely different feel with QR25DE motor coming from the SR20DE. This motor has way more torque though and the 6 speed is nice. Back seat is kinda tight but my kids sit in it so no big deal for me. I do have a header to replace the stock exhaust manifold and lose the pre--cat but want to do a full exhaust so it doesn't sound like crap...nothing obnoxious though. One thing to note is crank and cam position sensors are flakey and will cause CEL. They are cheap and easy ( :lmao:) to change though. Same part for both sensors.

  8. Update time!

Hey all, been gone for a bit. Had to go to Fort Bliss for a few weeks so couldn't do anything to the Pathy. Finally got the IACV gasket i needed when I got back. Only cost $3 but Nissan had to order it. The gasket came in just in time to take the family camping, so no messing with the Pathy for another little bit. Finally got to work on it this weekend.

Put all the new parts in and after jumping it with my Sentra... she lives! The motor runs better than it has in years. Still low on power but that's normal. Drove it a couple miles to my buddies to test it out. The motor is idle-ing and running pretty well but my CEL came on. I ran the codes and it shows 33 and 34, O2 and knock sensor. I already have a new 02 sensor for it but haven't been able to get the old one out, even after a week of PB Blaster. I think that is what is causing the code 34.

One weird issue it is having is, when you are at a stop and floor it the truck won't barely move and RPMs take a bit to go up before it goes. It just seems to bog. If you ease into the throttle it goes all right. I have had weird issues with it before that seem to be trans related but i found a '97 trans, torque converter, xsfer case and driveshaft for $300 i might call on. Gonna change the fuel filter and flush the trans for now to see if that helps. 220k miles on it and still kicking though.
