definately not a battery issue. the battery is less then 2 months old. like i sakd it's only when it's really cold. and once the truck warms up it's fine. i deliver pizza and if i use it for work it wont give me any issues all night once it's started the first time. it's definately a starter issue.

this is basicly teh porblem mine has but only when it's cold. i'm wondering if maybe i can just replace the brushes rather than payign for a new starter. seems that when it's cold and everything shrinks they don;t get close enough to get a good current to the inner part that spins and when it's warm they close enough bcz once i get it started and engine warms up it kicks every time w/ no hessitation at all. or if it's cold in the morn and it doesn't start when it warms up abuot 10° to 15° it starts right up w/ no probs. any thoughts?

ok i noticed this box under teh passenger side front seat last week and i thought it was the ECU. today i noticed a green light flashign on it and what apears to be an adjusting screw. is this box for the factory alarm. and does teh alarm come w/ some type of remote?

i had to run high octain bcz of the turbo. if you don;t get enough fuel (or too low of an octain rating) to compansate for teh amount of air being forced in it can detonate. and w/ the oil beign thinned out a bit it will tend to run a bit hotter than normal when being pushed hard. and not gettign proper lubrication from the thinned out oil. that;s why when infectors start to get clogged it can be detrimental to the engine.

thanks guys. i didn't think anytrhign of the cam sael but i dont; think they're leaking at this point. i've ptu abuot 2200 miles on her now and it hasn't used a drop of oil and there's nothign visable anywhere onthe motor. but i'll giev it a look while i'm in there.

my only experience w/ seafoam was really bad... i used it just like it said on the can. half in teh oil half in the gas tank. and sure enough the next day my my engine was in serious need of a rebuild. it thinned out eth oil so it was lubricating the way it shuold and it lowered the octane ratign of teh fuel so needless to say my engine detinated. i ended up w/ a melted piston and had to rip the motor out of the car to work on it. once i got it apart i had to scrape all teh melted aluminum off the cylender walls and hone it out real well. everyoen that saw teh pictures of it told me the same thing , don;t waiste your time trying to rebuild it the motor is shot!!! of course the idea that i could repair it for less then $200 VS. a new motor for close to $1000 i tok my chances, and what do you know. she runs like a dream!!! burns a tad bit of oil. maybe 1/2 a quart every 3000 miles but that's realy not bad. anyway the piont is if you use it be prepared for what it can do if you don't drain it out right away and or you decide to be hard on your car or truck.

so basicly the 95 pathfinder was a really good buy. got it at less then book w/ frame rot but it's gettign repaired next week. had it about 2 weeks now and i love it but things are starting to go. wheel bearings, and i wanted to replace teh timing belt just bcz it's @ 137k miles and i want to be safe. the gjuy that had it b4 said he never thought to have it replaced and his mother bougt it w/ about 60k on it. i picked up the timing belt and from what i saw here it's a good idea to do the waterpump right away and i can see why from teh pictures . then a few days ago i started getgin an off squeel and chauled it up to a loose belt...then last night the water pump started rattlign lick a bad bearing so it's good that i picked it up anyway. so i told you all of that so i could ask this... about how long on average does it take to replace the pump and belt? i'm not a professional but i can definately hold my own. my last 3 cars i bought w/ no engines adn built them to put them in. including a toyota supra turbo motor (7M-GTE) that we cramed into an 85 CELICA. and i have air tools that shuld cut down on wrench time. and right nwo my friends are workign on this... lexus V8 powered miatas. 2 of them.
