  1. Hey yall it's done. what a PITA. I went back out after taking a break to tint the window before i put it in.( it took me three tries to get it right and I ended up screwing it up anyway in the installation process-arrgh). Step one was to remove the door panel. Pretty easy except for figuring out how to get to the screws behind the arm rest. I ended up hitting the back end of it with the heel of my hand in an upward direction and it popped right off. Next was to take out the divider. The salvage yard sent me the whole set up, glass divider and rubber gasket-so i had a better idea of where to look for the screws. There is one at the top under the door rubber and two gold colored ones on the door panel. After getting it loose Ii tried for a while different ways of getting the window/gasket combo into the hole. I finally realized that it was not going to fit and that I needed to take out the other window. This just involves taking out the two screws holding it in place and carefully pulling it out. I was now able to move the divider over enough that it left plenty of room in the window hole. Now I had a flash of memory from when I was trying to find info on how to do this. It was for a different car but I remember reading that you had to put it in at a 45 degree angle an roll it back. The hole in the top of the door is big enough to fit the bottom corner of the gasket in there and then get the rest into the frame. This part was kind of scary. I had some left over soapy water from the tint, so I lubed up the gasket, took hold of the window and pulled it towards me(standing at the edge of the open door. I kept having thoughts of it breaking in my hands and a bloody ride to the ER. It finally went in and all that was left was to reassemble every thing. Now it looks about the same as it did before, although the tint is a slightly different color. OH well.
  2. OK so the glass came in today. I pulled the panel off took out the screws that hold the divider in place and now I'm stuck----it kind of looks like a square peg in round hole deal. If only they made flexible glass! If I took out the roll up window I could get the vent window in no problem, but then I'm back to square one. How to get the glass back in. GRRRR i hate not being able to figure this stuff out. if anybody has a suggestion I'm going to eat some dinner and then have at it again. SEE YA
  3. Hey thanks for the response. The glass I'm talking about is the smaller piece that is in the door. Its a 95 by the way. I'm thinking I need to take the panel off the door and some how work it in that way. I know on other cars there are usually screws that let you loosen the divider. I let you know how it goes and take some pics when the glass comes in. nice call on the plexi. That would look much better then my fix. I took a thin piece of plywood cut it to size and then wrapped it in black duct tape to weather proof it. A few more pieces of the black gold to seal it up and hold it in place and its good to go. see ya
  4. Hello pathy people, I need your help. Last week some A$$ munch busted out the drivers side vent window in the dark of night. I have no idea why , seeing how my 6x9 boxes were inches away, but nothing was stolen. It looked like someone hit it with a screw driver, as there was a flathead sized scrape on the window molding. I can only hope that the broken glass clinging to the tint film caused some nasty scratches. Anyhow-I finally found the part i needed and now am wondering how to go about doing this. I 'm not asking for a step by step, I am pretty good at tearing things apart, I just need some hints on where to start. thanks in advance bone and ticker
