  2. The existing snap ring may or may not fit. Mine did not. What i had to do was buy an assorted pack of snap rings. Solved my problem.

  5. Interesting. I didn't have to do any drilling for my 02 and bilsteins. Pretty sure theyre the same model. The top brackets/bolts worked perfect with the shock eyelet bushing sleeve except I used a few fender washers to take up the extra space in the bracket. I heard some people just bend the bracket inwards instead. For the bottom mount I didn't use a sleeve. The inner diameter of the bushing is a perfect fit on the mounting stud.

  6. Tyler to the rescue again. That post is what I needed thank you. P.S. I’m the guy that was communicating with you in the YouTube comments a couple of weeks ago about the Dobinsons front springs. I pulled the trigger and they shipped out today... If anyone else did it a little differently I’m open to further suggestions as well....

  7. Wow, lots of work! Looks Great. Personally, I think a half inch of rake sounds perfect.

  9. Thank you guys for the help! I went through the manuals and double checked everything and it all seemed to be where it was supposed to be and how it was supposed to be. Today I had some spare time and went down to the junkyard and got out another 4WD switcher from a 2004 LE Platinum and plugged it in to see if anything would happen,m and something did happen! The 4WD light no longer goes on once I switch from auto to 2WD and my dash indicator lights up properly as well when I'm switching through modes. I'm still quite skeptical if the 4WD engages or not, I'll have to test that out this weekend and let you guys know! Again thank you both for the responses, they've definitely helped a ton and I know more about my car now!

  10. So I finally started lifting. Got the rear mostly done, gotta build a panhard drop bracket. I have a Sat morning appointment for alignment and new 245/75-17s! I started on the front this morning. Everything disassembled; tie rods, swaybar bushings & links, axles, and struts are on, hub bearings & seals done, one lower control arm ready to install. I missed the fact that there's another set of axle bearings & seals, they'll be here tomorrow afternoon. I broke the bolt head off 1 ABS sensor bolt, I'll drill and tap that, then I destroyed the sensor, that will have to wait. I removed the front tie down loops to make my brackets for a brushguard/ front receiver/ skid plate. Just gonna design as I build. I have some grinding and holes to drill for my missing link. And I straightened the rear bumper and mended the cover, I plan to sand the rest of the lower trim, and weather permitting, paint this week as well.

  11. The old girl performed flawlessly, fully loaded, out on the beach today. It's amazing how much better this thing handles now, I really didn't realize how worn out everything was! Unfortunately, the fish didn't cooperate today, but had a great day with my girls regardless. Sent from my Mobile Communications Device

  12. Wow, must be nice having that kind of workspace available and a clean undercarriage to work on!! I'm currently doing my front suspension overhaul (due to a snapped coil) and so far I have about 12-14 hours into it. Almost every fastener has needed to be heated with the torch, backed off with a HD impact gun, most bolts have needed to be heated and beaten out. Luckily I have a decent size garage with a decent arsenal of tools, but the rust and corrosion is beating the hell out of me!

  13. Thanks everyone i got it all back in. For the driver side cv axle I had to use a thinner snap ring. The passenger side did not have a brass spacer at all. I had to run to the junk yard and buy one. The space goes one the cv axle shaft right before the spindle. It goes brass spacer, grease seal, needle bearing (thrust bearing) as shown on page fa16. The tapered end of the brass spacer goes towards the cv axle. Without that space I would have had close to 1/4in axle end play. I hope this helps someone.
