  1. So Pezzy, where is this shop? I'm in London, but go to Toronto all the time so I know the area pretty well. I have an old City Pulse Camera truck ( like the one on the side of the building) I wonder if your shop handles their trucks. It's nice to know a dealer exists that knows what the word "service" means.
  2. The TSG is a Madico brand madico . I used to work for the canadian distributor. It is always rated #1 or #2 in quality with the 3M Brand. TSG = Tinted Silver Grey , they have a TB = Tinted Bronze for those guys with the brownish tint. They are a little higher in price than Lumar or Suntec, but the stuff doesn't go purple in a few years. Unless you get the TG which is the cheapest stuff they sell for the guys who want the "limo" black look, but don't want to pay the cost.
  3. The following has been totally stolen from 88pathoffroad: The Power button changes the way the auto transmission shifts. When the switch is off, it shifts normally. If you hadn't noticed, when you mash the gas quickly sometimes the light will come on. That means that the microswitch on the gas pedal is triggering Power mode in the transmission computer, which modifies the shift points (it will downshift faster and upshift at higher RPM's) and revs the engine a bit higher than it normally would for better acceleration. When the Power switch is turned on, it will be in Power mode fulltime until you turn the switch off. hope this helps.. By the way, "power mode" is not nice on the gas milage either.
  4. He maybe selling it because he hauls large loads......I bought a tire carrier from the wreckers for 50 bucks CND, but never ended up installing it because I couldn't fit the bracket in there without cutting the sheet metal. The pins were rusted solid, so I drilled them out and put bolts on (the bottom one should have been put on upside down... DOH!! pssd) But the longer I've had the truck, the more I find I'm hauling long stuff that requires me to tie down the liftgate. If I had the carrier on there, I would never be able to haul it. ( I really don't want a spare tire carrier flopping around back there.) I don't have a roof rack, so strapping things to the top wasn't appealling to me, and it always happened to be weird odd shaped things. I will one day put a roof rack on there, but I may do it to put the tire up there instead. It seems like less work to me to install a roof rack then installling those upper brackets. And to my knowledge of this board, nobody has attempted the bottom brackets yet, if it's even possible, (forgive me if it has been done). I started surfing this board about year ago, and was very interested in what was happening with the spare tire carrier situation. There is a lot of options, like fabbing up a rear bumper with one attached, or not being afraid to cut into some sheet metal to installl the OEM one. But one thing is for sure, there doesn't seem to be an easy solution. Good Luck! P.S. I've got one sitting in my garage if any one's interested, but I've only got the top brackets, and one is jammed up above my tail light at the moment, (a story I don't want to get into right now)
  5. I was wondering if there was a known Pathy club in the Southern Ontario area. I'm in London, but I've been to some great places..like Algonquin and Bancroft and I wouldn't mind to get in on some group trips. I know that Pezzy is involved with the XTerra club in Toronto, but it helps that she has one. . . how are they to people who only have Pathy's Pezzy? Just seeing what comes up. Michael
  6. The brackets are held in place by their own bolts to the body as well, so when you do remove the carrier, the brackets won't move out of place.
  7. Just a pair of cheapy brand "Extreme" yellow's from a surplus store. neat set complete with wires and switch. I've had them for three months now and they have decided to quit working last week. But I basically haven't had time to see if it is the fuse or the switch. and for $20 buck CDN I'm not too concerned.
  8. Hi Guys and Gals, Been reading this forum for about 6 months now, and have finally signed up. I have had my pathy for about a year now. It's a 95 and used to be a Toronto City Pulse News truck. It was a fleet vehicle so it's got some neat switches like an engine uninterupt. So I flip the switch, pull the key out and she keeps running. I have a switch to turn off the daylight running lights...I guess they liked to sneak up on people. It was also wired up with 3 extra antennas. CB, Police Scanner, and video uplink. Of course, all the toys were pulled before I got it, but the antennas look cool. And all the wiring is still there. I'll get a picture up soon. No real mods installed by me except a pioneer 6 disc CD changer and some yellow fog lights. Well, that was a longer hello than I expected, but a hello just the same.
  9. Hi Guys, I can tell you from my 95 pathy that I have no bracing pre-installed for the tire carrier. I had to pull the brackets (the top ones only) off the doner truck. But the doner was from an 88 and the bracket was tack welded in before the sheet metal was put on. So I had to basically use a can opener approach to get it out. I've tried every which way to try to get that rear top bracket in and have been unsuccessful. I think I'm going to have to cut some sheet metel behind the tail light to slide it in. This may or may not happen. I've been using the lovely little truck a lot lately to move stuff, and on many occasion the stuff was long and big so the rear hatch had to be tied down..I wouldn't be able to do that with a rear tire carrier hanging back there.
