  1. Hey all Its been awhile since i have been on here , firstly let me say i dont know a great deal about motors except some of the basics. So the problem is when idling the motor sounds like it is skipping , I can feel the engine shake in the cab the idling is really low , Im not sure if just adjusting the idle screw would fix this problem , It sounds like it is going to conk out but it dosnt ,from what i can tell when driving on open roads the car feels fine and revs fine its only when idling you can really notice it , Im stressed out as im low on funds and really need my car for work so any ideas would be much appreciated . Just to save time here is a list of work/repairs Ive had done on it. Spark plugs and fuel pump new Idler arm rear shocks oil filter master drum break clynder wheel alignment new belts battery is all good cheers Dage.
  2. when i brought the pathy the spare came with it. Its a Dunlop snow grip or some crap like that,i couldnt see any signs of it being a retread it looked unused but who knows how long it has been sitting around for before i owned it, just forked out 170 bucks for a Maxis A/T 30x9.5 looks pretty good for a spare! the tyres im running at the moment are Hankook A/T when i get a new set i might get 31s muddys or A/T not sure yet, been advised not to get any bigger than 31s somthing to with the drivetrain of my model pathfinder the guy said i would lose heaps of power being a Z24.

Thanks for that i found the problem maybe i should of posted this under tyres.............Cheap spare tyres !! it turns out the shuttering and jolting was my tyre splitting that was yesterday today it exploaded and i thought the ass end of my truck fell off ha !! thankfully my spare tyre not my main tyres i run >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>pics here
  4. Hey all its been awhile. Anyway i own a 1988 pathy im in Australia and my problem is ( i dont know a hell of alot about engines, a little) but ive noticed today im having trouble with acceleration , its gotten worse the more i drove it today , so im not driving it anymore , i can feel it jolting not heaps but enough mainly when i hit 3rd and 4th gear its like its struggling for power and yeah its getting worse any ideas would be great thanks Dage.

    ok mmm the hand break light only comes on when the hand break is pulled its just one light for the hand break only. i had no idea that the hand break uses break fluid,the break fluid is low but it hasnt reachd the minimum marker as yet so i didnt think it would be a problem but maybe you are right and it does need refilling. the light also comes on for a second when taking a hard corner so yeah i thought the hand break might of been a bit loose i have just 1 light for the hand break.
  9. Hey i have a simple problem , i went 4Wheelin sunday and now my hand break light keeps turning on over slight bumps even no the hand break is completly off . Could it need tightning ? any help would be good and how to do it if thats the prob Cheerz

Happy days got in touch with wombat 4x4 went for a drive out there turns out the owner who races 4x4s pro,he works for the cfa anyway recently we had huge fires black saturday fires he was working with the CFA and his staff workers really f****kd him over and he has t sell the buisness but at the moment he is working for Simex tyres and is reopening in a couple of months this guy rally new his stuff and gave me a lot of positive advice with my pathy which was really good........so in about 3 wks im getting him to do the lift which will include a torsion bar rear coils and shocks they dont stock cheap gear so unsure of what brand shocks i cant lift it as high as i wanted but i was reccomended to only go up to 31" tyres because of the way my car is set up and that if i went bigger it would effect performance greatly on my model pathy but im really happy and i trust what he recommended and also asked if i wanted to join there club they have a mix of drivers some just want quiet cruisy drives and they have members who are set up for extream conditions as well happy days.....................so hopefully i will get out and get real taste of action and have some winchs on hand to bail me out lol

  15. hmmm made a enquiry last week at a place called wombat 4x4 about getting a lift no reply?? as yet there prob just busy il give it another day..........was chattin to a guy at work who is pretty handy with a welder might be able to help me build a custum rear bumper and maybe get a sceond hand arb front bull bar and chop it up and see if we can make it fit early days................its annoying the crap out of me i just want my car set up so i can go 4x4 and have fun on wkends and be able to pull myself out of the sh*t if i need to..
