  1. Not yet...Voltage issue comes and goes. Strange? New issue: I went to the car wash to clean off the years of power steering fluid leaking and dirt. Freezing cold night.... Seem to have froze the passenger door handle and locking assembly. Lock is thawed but... Now the key is stuck in the lock and the door is locked. Lucky I had the 'hide-a-key". I went to a lock smith at lunch but there car expert was on the road. Tonight I will take the door panel off (from the inside and find the problem). Oh well it is an 87, and not NEW anymore. But all the headaches beat a car payment anytime.
  2. Just an update: I have replaced the Power steering pressure line.... Ok that was fun...not... Going after the muffler next
  3. good idea I like FREE it is my favorite price
  4. Ok I cleaned the ground for the distrubitor. Adjusted the timing and the idle stop. Screwed in the plunger stop that the coolant pushes on the Throttle (top, front of the TBI) And ran a ton of CARB Cleaner the Throttle body. Wholy Crap is idles at ~800 RPM. But I still have the Voltage drop at beyond 3000 RPM. While reving or accelertating to beyond 3000 RPM the voltage drops a lager bit. I mean you can hear the blower motor slow down and see the dash lights dim. Has anyone seen this before? Maybe it having the wrong instrument cluster in it has something to do with this.
  5. pulled the codes it was 11 Crank/ camshaft position
  6. I have an 87 Pathfinder VG30i with 195k miles and a 5 speed. She seems to be all stock with no redneck tech except for an instrument panel is from a different model Pathfinder (maybe an SE or a S, it is missing the second fuel gauge, and the interlock button makes the fuel light on the dash come on)) and where some one stole the aftermarket stereo out of it. First problem: Idle...the idle fluctuates between 1800 and 1200 RPM. The Idle stop is backed all the way out and the RPM speed will never fall below 1200. Second Problem: Accelerating or Revving the engine above 3200 (or so) RPM causes the voltage to dip (Blower fan slows and dash dims). when the Engine speed drops to 2000 RPM or below the voltage returns to normal. Third Problem: I feel the thermostat is bad..Dosen't produce much heat from the heater. I was going to pull the engine codes but it is so dang cold in Denver lately. But the Pathfinder is Kicking A$$ in the snow.
