  1. I'm sending everything to Redfinder, since he bombarded me with like 46 messages, (kidding). Damn canadians...now I gotta fill out a customs slip, I'm gonna put value of 10,000$ so they can tax you, lol. No Pics yet, but this is the same year X I have and how it will look like when it evolves with the lift: Mine is 'Molten Lava'..only has 31s bfg, but the guy in photo has 32s, looks more meaner. If you guys ever go X, get the shrockworks bumper over arb.
  2. Hey guys long time! Been a while. Since the troubles with pathy, I decided to sell it and go with something problem free until I get more mechanically inclined. So I got the xterra I've been looking for, 4x4 Molten Lava 2002 X. I love it..and amen, cupholder that fits anything. Decent aftermarket parts and I just ordered the steel bumper from shrockworks.com, screw the arb. Takes like 2-3 months to receive though. Man..I can remember my noob questions, like the infamous how to shift in 4hi/lo..I nearly broke the damn thing pushing up thinking hi is up! I've threw on the rockcrawler rims and 31s I had on Pathy, fit no problem, however front rubbing exists. Backspacing what cause the rubbing on inner plastic bumper. Simple remedy by lifting it. X is diff from my pathy, since the X I can lift by spring leafs and shackles. As I get more knowledgeable I see I can build my own lift kit. I think I'm going with calmini shackles the alcon spring aal, bilsteins and better torsion bars. So far I did a flowmaster 40 and replaced stock radio/speakers. I miss my dang path though. Same engine in X..a bit diff I think? But I got the best help starting out right here on NPORA! Thank you guys. I still have some stuff I bought from the pathy I never used. It is a 6x NGK iridium plugs new in box BDM cables New in box (99$ at pepboys..they said it's the best they have, nascar logo on box) BDM distributor cap New BDM rotor New a fan belt, New and a AC belt, New I'm sure someone here can use it, basically a full tune up kit with great parts. Free and I'm not asking for shipping neither, I'll send it out free. A way of saying thanks to the board and it's members..it's not much but hopefully something Not sure exactly who to give it to, but I would say please be a member and honestly need it? I think this is fair? Dont be a new member with like 1 post and just want it to resell it, lol.. EDIT: the parts are BWD! not bdm http://www.bwdbrand.com/web_app/Main/ProductPage.aspx?ID=39
  3. I should keep the path, and attempt to do all the work on it myself. If I do something that goes boom, I would always have the X. I got no where to store it, unless in front of the house, sidewalk ghetto style. Haven't started up the pathy in like 1 week, I go to start it up and it does, but it feels like 'putt putt putt putt" and a light smoky out the muffler. Is it normal for any car to do that when you dont turn it on after a while?
  4. Made a deal with a local dealer for a 2002 xterra (8,000)$, If I give him half up front, I can take it and pay the rest directly to him with no 3rd party banks or bs. So far he's got 3,100. In the mean time, driving company car and not even touching the pathy. If anyone wants the 90 path, take it for $500 CASH. However NO 31bfgs/rock crawler rims. Stock chrome rims with 31tires. It runs, only problem I've experienced lately is the overheating. Every 11-14 days it overheats then all fluids gushes out. After cooling down, I refill antifreeze and good till the next time happens. After the 2nd time it happened I stopped driving. Things that needs to be done. Timing belt, even though it was done at 121,000 miles, it currently at 171,456 miles. Waterpump. Muffler and manifold gaskets. The chassis has no rust, only a rusting hole underneath rear seat. Body is good, couple of dents here and there. Has the Manik offroad brush guard, and the common tire carrier. Interior is ok. All leather, but front seats have the leather tearing at the ass sections. The member Stryker from here,...I paid him a 100$ to just look at it and tell me if it was worth it to keep putting money into it. He said it was great. However that lazy mofo didn't not want to do any repairs for anykind of money. lol. It currently runs, turn it on and drive it away. It has it's slight issues..I'm just sooo not experienced mechanically wise and I'm tired of all the local mechanics with no experience giving repair quotes out of their asses and can't even guarantee. Been working a lot lately so I just drive the company car home. Was going to take a auto repair class at the local vocational school just to know the basics for me. but at this very point, it has to be postponed. Want to thank all you guys for helping me with all, ALL my noob questions, including the infamous how to use 4x4, I cant push up for high! lol

Dude. don't even be sorry or other negative states, breathe in fresh inspiration and breathe out all the BS, keep the mind focused on what you want, not on what you don't want...new job can happen tomorrow if you wanted.
  6. 88path..what you mean same timing belt issues as path? Does the path have a timing belt issue!? By the way, I took a look at the 95 SRT 4runner. Interior nice, all leathered and clean. Took it for a test drive. DAMN, either that toyota has an issue or something, the acceleration was horrible, HORRIBLE. Timing belt was done 10,000 miles ago. It look like it has a mini lift and it comes with 31x10.5 tires. Feels a little weird driving it after being a faithful pathfinder driver. Feels way bigger and somewhat wider. Body in great condition, some slight rust underneath..tow hitch. Has grill bar in front with a cool looking skid plate underneath. But again, damn, that acceleration sucked. I never completely floored the pedal on the path where it touched the bottom..on the 4runner I stepped on it all the way and couldnt press down no more and still felt like it was chugging. He said that was normal on that type of big car. I have 31s on path and its not that bad. Oh well..i'll look again for used path if not, getting cosigner for Xterra!
  7. Was kiddin on the escort part, all in humor... I'll stick with my portable inflatable Hillary Clinton blow up doll, ewwwwww
  8. What if I drove to you, how long would it take you? Leave it overnight and shack up in one of the local hotels calling escorts from craigslist erotic services section while you work on it? lol, I don't mess with that!
  9. Ok, I've tried to get financing on a pathy or xterra. I have like no credit and 3 items in collection, some BS $50 medical doctor fee, 900$ negative account and a 90$ that I paid off already. Have $2grand in cash and nothing around here pathy related thats decent. I saw one that looks nice, but taking a look underneath it was nothing but delicate ferrous rust and holes, another one was 'ok' but was manual. Don't know stick yet. I'm going to have to try diff routes for now. An attorney client told me he as a 1995 toyota srt5, he said this is the 'luxury' edition, with all features in it. I think he's talking out of his ass, luxury on a 95 doesn't sound luxurious, lol. Back then, the biggest luxury items is powerwindows and leather seats that crack in cold. Anyway, he told me it has some 60-70thousand miles and he'll give it to me super cheap $500 or so and exchange that I'll take care of his office computers and IT needs. I'm going to take a look at it monday evening at his house. He said it's practically new, nothing wrong with it. I really dont want to go toyota route but I need something. Researching that 95 toyota, it looks like it has the same 6 lug configuration as the rims on pathfinder. I'm wondering if I can simply take the 31bfgs and rockcrawler rims and throw it on the toyota. They don't look appealing to me as my pathfinder. Dang it. I think I'll ride out with the toyota, and practice mech skills on pathfinder so if something goes wrong, toyota is there. Save more cash and simply buy a pathfinder/xterra cash outright and maybe trade in 4runner or sell it. Is there anything negative on a 4runner 95 if anyone knows? It does uses same 6lug rims like pathy?
  10. For the 3rd time, my path experience high temp. Temp gauge be normal all of sudden goes way to High, then all radiator fluids gushes out. Like if someone stabbed a big hole. After cooling down, I refill and it's good to go. First time it happened, didn't happen until a couple of months later. Happened 3 weeks ago, then again recently. Someone said to change thermostat, costed me 12$ at Autozone. Is it easy to change this on your own? I tried to look under radiator to find a drain plug, couldnt see one. I have to take a look at the manual. Thanks for any info
  11. Wow, no NY or NJ people love cash huh? I found a 95 pathfinder on autotrader.com for $2grand, going to take a look at it tomorrow.
  12. Like topic said..wanting my timing belt/water pump changed 500$ cash, 200$ more if you change gasket on manifold/newer bolts. No bolts looks busted, underneath the pathy is no rust. 500$ is good for timing belt/pump, places around here want 250-400, but they don't look reputable and give me negative vibes with all these surcharges that might exist. I'd rather pay more knowing the job is done RIGHT, fcuk it, this is how I roll. I don't know nothing about cars, everything I've learned has been thru this board, so I'm reaching out to your Pathy Gods. I have all the parts, new belt, new pump in box. There's only one catch, you MUST have experience doing this on a pathy. People around here done a 'few' pump jobs on yugos and hondas. I'm sure there are differences between normal cars and a pathy, kinda don't want them to have their first time pathfinder timingbelt/pump job experience with mines. I'll be willing to leave it at your house for a couple of days if needed. I love this pathy but its having small troubles and I'm mechanically handicapped..I can only save to buy a new pathy or I'm going the Xterra route. Please make love to my pathy and I'll pay you, cash!
  13. http://cnj.craigslist.org/car/751475917.html I'm going to assume to fix the reverse means getting a new trans, which is like a 1,000$ job, so perhaps I answered my own question and say it's not worth it.
  14. I got to buy a book "pathfinder for real dummies"
  15. Yes, this is noob question 348! When a pathfinder is 2wd, it means there is NO 4x4, just 2wd... I'm thinking i'm correct on this so far. But now if someone claims a 95 pathfinder is 4wd, I'm assuming 4wd is just that, 4wd, meaning it's 4wheeling permanent, you can't shut off and go 2wd.?? I'm looking at ebay to buy a new pathfinder, and came across this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...RTQ:MOTORS:1123 I email the guy asking if it's 4x4 or 2wd. He responds 'neither, it's 4wd'. But when I see the photos, I see the 4x4 gear shifter. Just slightly confused here, is he wrong or just misinformed? Because I see the shifter I'm assuming its 4x4 and you can go 2wd or 4wd on demand whenever you engage it?
