  1. We are currently in the process of a system install. Tomorrow the mounting plate will be cut and painted. The amp is just a 100x4 so not real big, so picture the inside spare tire mount... plate will mount on the lower supports spanning them and the amp will mount to the plate, vibration isolated with rubber feet. Semi hidden, full air flow. Planning on draping similar carpet over the top brackets to hide it a little once done... if it can be seen easily. The LoPro 1200 watt sub will be mounted vertically on the passenger side in the back opposite of the spare on custom brackets. It's black and won't be seen well thought the tint. The amp on the other hand is Brite white. We'll see when done. Cheers. Thanks for everyone who contributes. Any suggestions on getting the speaker wire to the front doors? Passenger side has played out to be difficult. Also, best spot for breaching the firewall with power wires? AKMIKE
  2. Good morning, yup, Thanks. I do believe that's the next step after its back together. I will start a new thread if I need more input. Cheers. M
  3. I love that song. Well, not the story behind it.... but oh my goodness, crank that up.
  4. I skipped this part the other night when I joined. Mike here, I was frantically looking for info, it's all better now. Just waiting for parts. I introduced the rig the other night under the nickname thread. Julian is his name, it actually is our sons. We live in the interior of AK, love the outdoors, 4 wheeling, family time and Jesus. So, Julian is tan/champaign in color and in really good physical shape with all the bells and whistles still working. It just needed a bunch of vacuum lines and KS and EGR. We already put locking hubs on, but no 4x yet... not sure about that one. Front diff was pretty low in fluid. Once it's put in 4x you can hear the transfer case working but it's not connecting to the lockouts??? Any hints on that would be nice. I haven't searched that one up yet. Anyway, I'm a big fan of forums and all the knowledge that is bestowed to the masses. Thanks and keep up the good work. Cheers!
  5. Timing cover is good. It's just the brittle rubber washer that was damaged. I have a good replacement. Valves look good! Only 177k on Julian, so he should be good for a while. I'm putting it back together asap after KS comes in and I find a hose.
  6. try this again... All this info is great, however it's missing one thing... there one small bolt that threads through timing cover housing flange that also threads into the coolant elbow at the front of the intake. To get to this bolt, I had to also remove the tensioning pulley mounting plate. Once that is all done, viola. Intake manifold comes right off. I might have damaged the timing cover in this process. TBD. Anyway all is good now just waiting for the KS and need to find the hose for that elbow too, it's toast, aged and I'm not trusting it to go back on. Thanks all. Cheers.
  7. Just posted in the nickname thread. Julian is his name. First nissan ever. Paid 800 for it. Super clean too. 94 LE all the options. Ran good for it not getting started for over 6 years. Knock sensor issue that I'm in the middle of now. Egr was loose on studs with just 1 nut holding it there. I got to this site by a Web search and was reading a thread on the replacement of the KS but upon registering and logging in I lost that thread and have searched with no luck... anyway, great site. Forums are awesome! My issue, can't get intake off seems to be a bolt behind thermostat housing getting in the way..? I have yet to read anything about that being a problem. What am I doing wrong? Please help. I'm experienced in the shop, but this is the first small foreign rig I've ever owned! Thanks in advance. Mike
