    Gotcha, yeah mine looked pretty poor but I just cleaned it all up and even with the rotted out brackets/ grounding strap mine still fires right up and runs every day. Might test the coil? 87 XE red/red 3+3+33's=my finder

    Think that grounding strap is for the coil, mine was in similar shape and I was having similar issues. Replaced the coil and it seemed to solve the problem... The thing circled in red is the ignition control module. How long does it run before it craps out, when I was dealing with it it would stop giving me spark after the truck heated up. 87 XE red/red 3+3+33's=my finder

    Problem may not be injector, have you checked codes yet? That rev limit is limp mode, I have had that happen and had issues other than injectors. 87 XE red/red 3+3+33's=my finder

    I use rough country UCA's I like them, and they come with grease fittings. (Fought urges to not make a BJ angle joke...) 87 XE red/red 3+3+33's=my finder

    As long as the old belt is intact you will be able to just do a new timing belt as long as you follow the instructions and get things lined up/count teeth and set the tensioner correctly you should be good to go. It is easy as long as internals are not jacked up via broken belt etc. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2

    Ran it through DEQ/smog... and it PASSED! Six Months of tinkering and troubleshooting in my free time pays off!
