  1. How many people die from slipping on Banana's compared to the amount of Banana's present in the population... Wannabe
  2. Front has a 2" lift so will most likely even out when I have the trailer on! How tight was the back suspenstion? All good.. Wannabe
  3. That would be murder.. The crack head is'nt threating you when he's running around at 50MPH..
  4. Okay I am starting to see a pattern and please don't take this the wrong way. The trend I am seeing, is that everybody is scared of intruders who are armed. Why are these intruders armed with Guns? The intruders are caring the firearms because they think the Householder is armed and they then go in a even higher state of anticipation. If the robber has a higher state of anticipation he / she will react in a more hostile manner. Violence begets Violence. For a Christan nation, America sure needs to read the bible a little more. Imagine a world where robbers were put at ease, they would react in a more thoughtful and concise manner. I love my true freedom here in Australia. I can walk down the street unarmed and unafraid. I don't need to worry about a crook pulling a gun out at me*. They know that the chances of finding someone ready to shoot back very low and don't need to use anything bigger than a knife.. I was a manager in a Large American Fast food chain who worked late at night in rather UN-desirable area's. In that time, I was held up on four occasions. The worst I ever saw was a small knife and a meat cleaver. They all knew that I didn't have a gun under counter. All four were caught and the worst I got was 2 @!*%ches from when the police officer cut the tape from my wrist in my "retirement" robbery. I'm still here and the most any of them got was $240. They got their hit or Blew it gambling. Yes, there are fruit loops out there and nothing anybody can do will stop them. Do what we did, Buy back the guns! The Australian Government bought back over a million semi-automatic center firing rifles. Crooks need money and every gun handed in is one less potential "home invasion" on the street, buy them a "hit" with the proceeds. Cheaper in the long run. Hopefully they OD!. Why are there so many "illegal" firearms? Because 90% of them started life as a legal homeowners "protection". Most of them would have sat in a bedside drawer till someone broke in and found it and thought "I can sell this". Break the chain. If your not 'using' it lock it up where others can't get them. How many kids get killed each year "playing" with mommy's protection. Get rid of the Death Penalty. Lower the stakes, less cops would get shot and more crooks would surrender kn owning that they wouldn't get killed anyway. It would be a worse life locked up 23 hours a day, with no chance of parole, no hope, no outside contact, and not being able to kill themselves. Send them to a living hell! with NO out. Send them nuts, Easier to deal with at least. Persona nongratia. Wannabe
  5. It may of been that I tried to order the "c" kit rear coils? I have found mine to be great. I have done just over 35,000k with them since october 06. They are a major improvement of the OEM setup. The car is very stable at 160kph so i'm happy. They can get a bit floaty over rough tracks at high speed but under and over steer isn't a problem. I Would "promote" them at the drop of a hat. Shockers have managed to survive so far but I can see a replacement set coming in the next few months. Wear is about the same as the pedders setup.
  6. Ironman used to make them (as fitted to my beast) but as of last month stopped producing them. I may be forced to upgrade to a F100 coil due to changed towing / load requirements. Wannabe
  7. One last comment! Low crime countries have a low crime culture. Social welfare systems have a large impact both postive and negative. Wannabe
  8. Never lived there but have visited on several occasions was not impressed with the governmental system. Australia has developed a unique democratic system where everybody has a valued input. Everybody has a vote unless you have a criminal conviction of a certain level, you don't need to meet certain conditions to exercise your "rights" except that you must be a citizen. Australia has a compulsory voting system so if the majority don't like the government they get kicked out. We do have a tendency to "sack" Governments that don't respect our collective values. Our voter turnout is over 90% while the USA average's just 40%. The majority truly rules in principle. Everybody is treated exactly the same under the law and the Government can't remove the "Rights" of foreigners once they are on Australian soil. All persons in Australia are treated the same. The Australians attitude of a "fair go" is the major difference. Our current Government with it's Americanized attitude and complete lack of respect is about to get a major "sacking". Yes I am fairly left wing but I see that as a positive. A society can only be judged based on how well it treats it's disadvantaged. Anyone can get a "university" education as long as you meet the education standards of that course. The cost is covered by our government but some of this cost is payed back thru the tax system once the student starts earning a certain amount per year. Financial support is in place for most students. Places are limited to a certain number and only the "top" level students get those places based on their results from high school. If your good enough you get the place no matter what your place in society. Prisoners in jail regularly get university degree's and this is encouraged. Our "basic" health system is open to all at no cost other than the "Medicare" levy that applies to all tax payers. (around 1%) of income. Don't have a job you can still go to the Doctor and get treatment with medicine costing around Aus$4 (US$3.20) for a welfare recipient. If you are in a public hospital all costs are covered under the universal health care system. We are all entitled to health care even if you don't have health insurance. I know this rant is slightly off subject but also points to one underlaying truth between both systems. We can both do anything we like unless it impacts on others. I don't like the concept of everyone carrying a gun, Maybe I just don't trust people not to get angry and act like an idiot. Every right has a higher responsibility.[/b]
  9. * I am a shooter and agree that limits need to be imposed for safety of the people. Gun control is Australia is also a "sore" point. Yes Australia has had some major mass shootings and the laws have been tightened up. To buy a gun in Australia can be difficult. To gain a shooter licence.. * Must have a valid reason.. Personal protection is not vaild. Sporting shooters are allowed and encouraged by the firearms act's but they must have evidence of permission to shoot on private property or be a member of a registed gun club. * Must pass a convictions check. * Must have valid referances. * Semi automatic centrefire firearms are banned unless you hold a "d" licence. These are almost impossible to get unless you are a professional shooter. * Pistol licences are also VERY difficult to get with a full ban on semi automatic pistols. * You must be able to demonsrate a secure storage facility with bolts and ammo held seperatly. * You must pass a state approved safety course run by the local firearms officer. * All firearms must be registed. Semi-automatic center fire rifles are designed for a battlefield not for civilian use. They are designed to increase the kill rate. One shot one kill moto for hunting is the humane way. If you need to take a second shot, fast, then you need LOTS more practice at the rifle range. Most of these items have been put in place on knee jerk reactions. The basis of these laws have a common sense approach but the one thing that fails the system is that crooks still have guns. The current statics state that there were 3 times the amount of knife based murders than shootings and of these 90% where illegally owned. The law system in Australia does'nt have a bill of rights and I believe it is a better system. We are intitled to complete freedom to do whatever we fell like unless a law has been written to cover that behavior. The Amercian system of a bill of rights works the wrong way in that the only rights you have are the ones the government has given you. Amercia the land of the not so free and not so Equal.
  10. The manuals are available on E-bay.. My copy on CD has everything ex factory..
  11. That price that was quoted was in Australian dollars thus would be around US$95 per side. The discs are vented. That price also included mettalic pads. Wannabe
  12. Emerald, Victoria Via the northern cattle industry most of the time. (Windmill / Bore mechanic, Field service tech) Wannabe.
  13. www.4wdsystems.com.au for the snorkel. You will need to place a special order if your car is petrol based as their Terrano/Navara kit is setup for the TD27 motor. They did a "special" (Read : lots of swearing) fit for my car. Ask them to provide a length of flexible hose to suit. Great service and they ship worldwide. I saw one of their suspenstion systems fitted to a Landcrusier, The owner claimed it had never caused any problems in over 150,000 Kilometers (Approx 95,000 miles) over some off the worst cattle station tracks. I got my headers via the Japanese Ebay site. I have seen Twin turbo kits to suit the VG30(e) selling for less than US$600. 250kw 340 nm torque.I am able to source most parts directly from Nissan Australia but failing that a lot of Queensland based motor wreckers have terrano's, Pathfinders and Navara's being dismantled. The average price for a Pathfinder here in Australia is around US$4000. I almost died of shock at the idea of paying US$500 for a Pathfinder. Wannabe.
  14. I live just outside Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. I drive a 1991 Nissan Terrano (as per japan specs - private import) VG30e, 5 speed Auto (limited japanese Run), Full electrics, Modified with a Ironman Suspension package (2" lift, Custom extra heavy duty shockers), Cooper Suretrac S/T 31x10.5", Snorkel (mainly for keeping the dust out and keeping induction temps down), Try-Y type headers (From mid 80's 300zx), Bullbar and 130w Driving lights. My Interests are mainly "outback" bush trips. Most of these trips are around 2-3 weeks in length and take in such area's as the Birdsville Track and Following the original explorers tracks. My next big trip will be to complete a Cape York trip. (Bottom to top along the east coast of Australia, 7500 miles, 2900 miles of goat tracks and 97 river crossings in 95+ degree heat, NO swiming due to huge croc populations). I have been watching the forums for quite a while and would classify myself as a survival mechanic. (enough to get myself out of trouble but bad enough to get myself into some.) :help: Wannabe
