  1. I see now, sorry for starting the thread... although it looks like another person or two might have been wondering as well. So, is there an easy way to have the dealer put together the entire strut mount? It seems like a pain to have the parts only listed as single parts. I see that everyone should stay away from the KYB mount kit, how about the Monroe or Raybestos kit? Maybe I'll call the local dealer or one of the favorite online dealers to ask them and hope that they know each piece that I want to build a complete upper mount. EDIT: It shows here http://www.autoanything.com/Parts/PartsPro...-springs-67-893 that the KYB is an OEM replacement? Interesting. Anyone know anything about the MTC mount? Just curious...
  2. Hey guys, sorry if this has been posted before. I can't seem to find an answer in searching. I'm curious to know exactly what parts to get if I want to fully assemble the front end strut/spring combo so that I can swap everything in one shot. I'm thinking of going with one of the lifts available and could do it easily at a friends house if everything was a bolt-off/bolt-on swap. I'd ideally like to get all the parts and have the front struts fully assembled by a shop, then take the old off and slap the new on. The rear should be foolproof as it's only springs and shocks. Any thoughts? Thanks.
  3. Excellent, thanks guys. I'll have to work up the parts that I want and see what they'll do those for.
  4. I'll be heading back up to Red Cone this Saturday. Will probably leave Denver around 10am. Will have a buddy riding with me, so it'll be a solo truck for now. We'll probably do Red Cone, try Radical Hill and maybe down into Breckenridge. We'll probably stop in Keystone to do a little pistol shooting before heading back to Denver. Let me know if anyone's interested in tagging along.
  5. Thanks for the info. Where do you see the price for struts? rocky-road has them for $201/each. The '05-'06 struts are much cheaper, but what I can tell is the '96-'04 struts are $201 on there as well. Any detail on that? Thanks.
  6. Hey guys and gals. I'm looking into lifting my '01 LE. The local shop down the road just did an '03 a couple weeks ago. They gave me the price for a complete OME kit with OME springs/struts/shocks. It doesn't look like they charged him for any other parts except for some brake hose clips. The parts totaled $883.24 ($150 front springs, $150 rear springs, $180 for shocks, $200/ea for struts). They charged 3 hours for lift install, 1 for pressing struts, and 1 for alignment @ $90/hr for a total labor cost of $451.50. The total bill was $1452. Does that seem reasonable to you guys? I see that the parts prices are right on par with rocky-road.com. It seems like the parts cost is about as good as I can get based on that. Labor is what it is. So, is anyone running the full OME kit with his struts and shocks? How are they compared to any of the other options? I also asked about Warn manual hubs. They can do them for $240 parts, and maybe another hour of labor... so about $330 more. Are there any reliable sources for rock sliders and/or skid plates now for these things? I'd seriously be interested in doing this around the same time. Any advice from the crew? I received some hail damage a couple weeks ago and I just got my estimate done. $4500 is what they're going to give me to fix it. I'm thinking about just pouring some of that into lifting, etc. and saving the rest instead of fixing it.
  7. Hey guys. I've lurked around here off and on for a year or so. I'm in Lakewood around Hampden and Wads for those in the area. I've got an '01 LE that's all stock except 31" BFG ATs. I've been hitting up some trails around the past two years occasionally. We just did Red Cone last Sunday and it was awesome! I think I'm gonna head back up there this weekend and connect a few other trails around that area. I've done a bunch of others also... Slaughterhouse, Bill Moore Lake, Kingston, Loch Lomond, MSV/Coney Flats, etc. This damned thing is pretty capable in stock form! I'm considering cashing in my claim check from the hail damage a couple weeks ago to have it lifted with OME parts, etc. Are there any particular shops around that do good/reasonably priced work? I live in an apt and don't have the tools that I used to before I moved here. Any ideas what I should expect to pay for a shop to install the lift? Ideally I'd like the lift, rock sliders, and manual hubs. I don't know if I'll do all of that at once, but we'll see. Thanks for the warm welcome that is sure to come. Take care. Mike
