  1. Hey come on guys, please don't ignore my post. I really need some help on this one. :help: :help: :help:
  2. Who needs a hill to go snowboarding? Hahaha not me! You guys heard of "snowskates" or "snowdecks" yet? A snowdeck is like a skateboard, only it has a mini snowboard on the trucks instead of wheels, and a snowskate is pretty much a skateboard sized snowboard only without the bindings. Anyway I think their great because their only a fraction the cost of a snowboard never mind the cost of bindings and everything else you need, and you don’t need a big hill or anything, anyplace will do. Anyway a buddy and I each picked up a snowskate and a 25' dog leash (the metal wired kind you use to chain your dog in your yard) and we just keep that in the back of the truck now any time powder hits or theirs enough hard pack we hit up the park, or parking lot, chain up to the truck and off we go. Wicked fun!
  3. I'm looking at my old KAC 744 (only a model up from yours I believe) as I type this, and its using a 20amp fuse, I've run it in all sorts of configurations with a variety of subs and never once had a problem. I wouldn’t recommend going to a 25 amp, and especially not a 30 you’re more likely to fry your amp before the fuse blows that way.
  4. Living In Manitoba where its snow almost 7 months of the year you learn early how to drive safely in the snow and ice, and although I'm 100% in favor of driving safely on a regular basis, and I agree with all you guys on your tips and pointers, sometimes its just more fun to cut loose and do your own thing. I say if you’re going slow enough anyway and there is no1 coming at you, go ahead and over steer and hit the gas a bit and get her sideways. My front street goes both downhill and uphill before I hit Main and I can drive the whole street completely ass sideways. When first snow fall came, HOOYEEEAH! You know I was out there rippin up the streets at night. Funny story, I went out that night with a bunch of my buddies, half of us in the truck, and the other half in a friend’s old corolla beater. We started off just messin around on his front street fishing out, doing 360's, drifting corners, then we decided we needed more room to play so we headed down to the mall parking lot only to find a mustang, a trueno, and some pontiac sh!ter had already beaten us to the punch and had one of the guys in their group standing outside recording their session. Needless to say we couldn’t let them have all the fun, so when it was clear I drifted right in and started doing 360's in front of them, followed by my buddy in the corolla doing some backup 360's. I then proceeded to use the lamp posts as pylons making a drift course in my mind drifting around sets of lamp posts, then doing perfect figure eights around 2, and then finally some perfectly controlled 360's around the lamp post closest to their camera man, all the while my corolla buddy doing his own thing and making his own drift courses. Only one and a half - 2 minutes into our sesh, they had already given up trying to compete and just parked in a row to watch us own the parking lot. After our grand finally in front of their camera man we parked next to them cranked the volume and blasted them with #1 Stunna and they drove off slowly out of the lot in shame it was the funniest thing I'd seen that week. Anyway, I just thought you all might enjoy reading that lil story, and hopefully you all have some fun stories of your own to retell.:gossip: What’s even funnier though is that was only a PART of that night. Hahahahahahaha!!!! :X
  5. To tell the honest truth I was not the one to test with the volt meter, so I couldn’t tell you exactly how my friend ended up reading 12v before the coil and slightly less after the coil. When he told me that it did sound pretty odd, but in any case, if you know the correct way to test if it’s the coil, I'd be more then happy to go and try it your way. Yep, she’s a four stroke, no oil in the mix, and certainly there was no crud in the gas I added. Once we pushed her up into the garage checking the fuel flow was #1 on my to do list, seeing as how my fuel pump had gone haywire on me just the previous month. (Corroded ground wire kept blowing fuses for me) Anyway everything checked out, my only problem is not getting a spark. I'm pretty confused actually. Lets say even if it is my distributor, spark plug wires, or coil, they all worked just fine before the running out of gas incident what would be preventing them from working now?
  6. Well, I checked my coil with a volt meter, I get 12v before the coil and slightly less after it, I duno if that checks out as being ok or not, but I'll be sure to check the connections to and from it, along with that gray box next time I see my truck. Yep, I’m dead sure I ran out of gas, It was parked in my garage with next to no gas left so I poured in the rest of the gas that’s supposed to be for my snow blower (btw my snow blower only gets premium gas) and that was barley enough to get me to my buddy’s place. I idled it on his street while we moved cars out of his driveway so we could put her into the garage and she just died on me in the process. In any case yes I did pull a plug wire to check and I get nothing, but I'll go ahead and check the timing belt anyway just to be safe.
  7. Hey guys, sorry for being away for so long. Anyway, here is the situation. I ran my truck completely out of gas in front of my buddy's place now she won’t start.-thnkboutit- She'll turn over, but I later checked and I'm not getting any spark. Here's what I know so you don't have to ask and or guess. Fuel pump is working correctly; I have a new battery, spark plugs, and distributor cap. I tend to think it’s either my spark plugs, or distributor, but I'm no mechanic and these are just guesses. With any luck maybe one of you guys will know what’s up, or can at least guide me on how to check what the problem really is. thnx
  8. Thanks for the tip, and the link Big Shoe, but I tend to think that a thick rotating wire brush on a power drill would make light work of striping off that chrome. Or maybe it won't, I'm not sure because I haven’t tried yet. (We’ll see if you've proved me wrong when I get around to trying it out ) As for the cost aspect of things, I've got a friend that works at a powder coating shop, I could just leave my rims with him and the next time they do an order in black he'll just throw them on the end of the line and have them run through with everything else. $20 and a case of beer should settle that debt. BTW. Powder coating is what your refrigerator, stove, washer and dryer are all coated with. Take a stone to the back side of your dryer some time you'll see you wont get much more then a couple scuffs, This stuff will beat paint out any day for chip resistance.
  9. Yep, I knew you were referring to the distance. That’s why I gave you the story of my little road trip as an example of distance not being a factor in someone’s decision to purchase a vehicle.
  10. I'll just go ahead and declare myself winner now. The interior parts that should be duct taped, aren’t even, body panels that have hammer marks? You bet, paint matches all body panels? I'm missing a body panel and I have a red hood that I'm going to put on my black pathy (temporary) Door handles match? I'm missing one since some indians busted mine out when they broke in, and finally as for getting washed? She's been sitting in a salvage yard for a little over 2 years
  11. When I got a hold of my pathy the chromies that came stock were already rusted to hell, so I'm thinking of maybe powder coating them black. Has anybody here tried painting a set of rusted stock chrome rims? I think this would be a decent solution since I believe mine to be rusted beyond ever looking good again. Tell me what you think, or if you have any other solutions. Thanks.
  12. Tupac! Tupac!! Tupac!!! It's gotta be Tupac! I've got all his CDs, and I'm currently listening to his newest album "Loyal To The Game" but don't peg me for some kind of poser just because I like rap. I'm also into metal, techno, and all the older rock like AC/DC .
  13. Awwwuhhhhk! Thanks for the mental image
  14. I actually saw the auction you were talking about. Anyway, I like to hang out at salvage auctions on wendsdays, and around here (Winnipeg Manitoba Canada) buying a scraped truck like that for $1027 or $1242CAD is not an uncommon thing. I'll bet this guy had himself 2 more pathys that are salvageable which he plans to fix with the parts from the one you mentioned. BTW Don't bet on guys from Canada being deadbeats in this sort of situation when you are bidding on EBay. My Buddy and I purchased a wrecked 02 Intrepid that was in Baltimore. We drove down there (a 1600 mile trip each way) with a flat deck trailer and towed her all the way back, (With a 94 JGC I might add ) and I'm sure there are plenty of other’s who would do the same.
