  1. I've got a '02 XE. Does anyone know if there's any difference in tire sizes between the SE and XE in the 2002 Pathy? Also, will wheel spacers alone help get a larger tires on there, or is a lift kit necessary? Thx
  2. Does anyone know if these spacers are enough for an '02 Pathy to get some 265/75/16 on there without them rubbing on the strut or fender? https://ruggedrocksoffroad.com/nissan-pathfinder-wheel-spacers-pair-by-rugged-rocks-1988-2004-1534-wide-p-60226.html?osCsid=i2q01glhdr21s2n1ilhv5mrcq0
  3. They are stock rims. Are there any other wheels I can get from a salvage shop off another brand that have the proper back spacing? Or can any tire shop install wheel spacers? Thx Raz
  4. I have an '02 XE and tried installing 265/75/16 and where it rubbed was against the front coil spring!! I'm afraid the 265/70 won't be much better. Anyone else have this problem? Seem like 255 is the largest I'll be able to go without lifting the truck.
  5. It doesn't seem that Bilstein makes shocks for the Pathfinder. Does anyone have the Bilstein part no. to know which shock might fit an '02 Pathfinder? Thx R
  6. Hey Thanks That's one awesome build you have there, but a but too rich for my needs. I'm going with OME Springs all around. But not sure if I can get HD for front and rears. Any suggestions on where to purchase these? Also, for shocks, the Bilsteins 5100 sound reasonable and I think are cheaper than the OME. But what did you use for struts and did they top on out bumbs? Finally, I do need bigger tires and was thinking the 265/70/R16 BFG A/T KO2, but it seems like I'll need some lift to get them to fit properly. The lift will also help with the bigger pay load. But since the OME springs already give .5" lift, shouldn't a 1" lift suffice? Thanks for any suggestion on where to get parts too. I'm here in Canada and prefer to buy without hoping across border, but either works. Cheers Raz
  7. That's interesting, because on my '01 with the OME coil springs I had absolutely no rubbing with the 255/70/16 and thought I could even get away with the 265s, which is why I was inquiring. But I'll look into the 1.75" OME lift if that will improve my carrying capacity. Thx, R
  8. ...does anyone know if I can fit 265/70/R16 on that vehicle with stock rims and this OME suspension kit?
  9. Do I need to upgrade anything else other than the springs, shocks, and struts. Anything like torsion bars etc. I might need to upgrade while I'm doing the suspension? Thx Raz
  10. Thanks for the reply. Yes, beefier springs is my first go to. I think I'll go with the Heavy Duty OME there. But, truck's due for shocks, so I'll do them at the same time. Any brand you recommend? Struts seem ok, but if I'm doing everything else, might as well I figure. Probably KYB there. As for airbags, I know that on my other truck carrying a camper, air bags add too much roll when going off road. I don't want that, so I didn't even consider them as an option for the Pathy. Thx R
  11. I'm sure this has been covered dozens of times, but I'm just trying to upgrade the suspension of an '02 Pathfinder 5spd to carry more load without bottoming out (taking fat clients to paragliding launch sites off road). The roads we use are pretty rough so the truck takes quite a beating. I understand OME now makes complete kits for the pathfinder but not sure if it's worth the extra $$. Can I get by something cheaper as far as struts and shocks go, or are should I just bit the bullet and get the OME? Thx Raz
  12. Passed on that one and bought a 2002 5spd instead with a new clutch and no rust and 155k miles for $3000. Now it's time to start working on the suspension and tires but I don't want to any lift KYB Struts GR-2, HD OME coil springs front& rear Shocks, haven't decided between Rancho RS999010/XL or Bilsteins or ?) Warn manual locking hubs. BFG A/T 265/70/16
  13. Hi I'm looking at a 2003 5spd Pathfinder with 160k miles for $4000. It has the original clutch and that's my main worry as I know it can be expensive replacing these and they tend to go right around 150k. A couple of questions: Is this a decent price for this vintage vehicle with this many miles and original clutch? Anything else I should be looking at? Thx Raz

  15. Hello I'm in the market for a new truck and am looking at opinions on an Xterra (2nd gen or newer) vs a Pathfinder 01-04, manual tranny. My main use will be taking clients with heavy paragliding gear off road so I need something with good rear suspension so it doesn't bottom out. I believe both Xterra and Pathfinder stock rear suspensions are too mushy for that, but not sure which is easier to modify and beef up. OME makes beefier springs for the pathfinder that are reasonable. Also, which has the better reliability record? I know the 3.5L V6 engine in the '01-'04 Pathfinder is very reliable. Currently, money is not an issue. I just need the right truck for the job and don't want to settle on something that won't work. I'm even contemplating getting a relatively new Xterra Pro 4x if it will do the job. But not sure how much I'd have to mod it so it doesn't bottom out off road with a heavy load. Thx for your replies, Raz
