G'day,

Another Aussie here. This time from the centre of the island (well, until I find work back east).

I'll post a proper thread with info about me and my 89 Pathy.. :)

Cheers,

Simon

I am mate.. haven't posted there for a while either.. I'm omnipresent (everywhere)

I'll need to go back and post there at some point, though this place is obviously Pathfinder orientated which is great for me with my constant building up/rebuilding/restoring of my Pathy... though she's starting to look great now, and going better and better!

I bought my 1993 from it's first owner in 1994 and I've been driving it since. It has 233,000+ miles on it now. I'm trying to figure out what to do with it. It's still my primary vehicle so I can only do repair work on it that I can do over a weekend. I'm getting ready to replace the valve cover gaskets. I've been reasearching all of the connections to the intake plenum so that I can get all the right replacement parts when I get into to it. Once I get started I'll post some pictures. In the meantime, if anyone can point me toward some self help on the job I'd appreciate it.

Hello from the surface of the sun- Blythe,CA. I have been a long time lurker since I bought my first Pathy a year ago. 1991 SE with 230,000 miles on it- I love the thing to death. It has been my first 4x4 and I wouldn't part with it for all of King Midas' gold. I am hoping to fix it up and turn it into what it deserves to be. My Pathy is a little worse for wear and isn't the most beautiful one out there (complete with 13 bullet holes in various spots from the previous owner).

Hello everyone,

I'm a newbie here and just figured i would say hi. I recently purchaseda 98 pathfinder se in excellent condition everything works great on it. We just had snow here and the 4x4 in works so good in the pathfinder i was able to pull a ford f-250 out of the ditch by the house (hahahaha).

My pathfinder is bone stock but I'm looking for upgrade suggestions any where i can get them, the only problem with upgrading is that i have a fixed income and cant spend a whole lot of cash on upgrades so please keep that in mind when giving me suggestions.

Thank you all and happy wheelin.

Hey Stamper (is that after the evil henchman of the bad guy in the James Bond movie? or do you just walk heavy???)

One of the most popular mods for any 4x4 is to raise your suspension, check out Ironman.com.au (they have local stores in the US). You'll most likely find that they stock suspension for your model and that you can buy it directly from a local stockist.

Good job on pulling the 'F truck' out of a ditch.. nice when you get to do that sort of thing... I pulled a brand new Hilux out from being bogged to the sills using my little old Pathy.. made me laugh like hell to think my 25 year old truck with no modern technology could pull them out and NOT get stuck in the bog they were in despite my backing right up to them! LSD, low range and a snatch strap.. wonderful!

Hello all. I've owned my 2007 Pathfinder SE offroad since 2009 and I love it to death. Wouldn't trade it for anything. I've randomly searched the web for after market parts since I've purchased the Pathfinder. I can never seem to find parts/accessories for it though. The odds and ends are easy enough, but the even searching for black rims or exhausts for it can be a pain. Not sure why because the Xterra seems to have a lot of stuff. This site looks great and seems have enough user input to help me along the way to seriously readying it for offroading.

Hello all,

How do I view past topics? For instance: I am trying to view articles regarding 90-95 WD21 pathfinders. It says there are 4,620 topics; however, I can only view the topics (I assume) from this year. Am I doing something wrong?? Yes, I admit I'm a newb when it comes to this sort of things. Darn computers. Haha

Thanks much!

Knowledge is power and that's why I joined. I had originally intended on buying a Geo Tracker for some mild off roading but happened upon a rainforest green 96 Pathfinder so I bought it. I live just a few miles from Wilderness Trail Off-Road Park in Bell County Ky and hope to get this rig in good enough shape to trek where I take my full size 78 Ford Bronco. I didnt realy consider the whole unibody thing when I bought this vehicle I hope it works out.

Here is a link to the Park, it is completely free and you get a good variety of terrain from muddy wooded trails to gravel two tracks. wildernesstrailoffroadpark.net/

Hey, welcome to the newer folks, it's nice to know that I'm no longer a newbie because there are newer peeps than me on here ;)

rustedhorse, that looks like fun. I'll look forward to seeing pics :)

tg3, try looking at overseas markets, particularly Australia and the UK - lots of aftermarket products available for most 4WDs that ended up on the world export markets, also markets that specialise in the Navara Utes and so on and so forth, because of all the commonalities in the vehicles you will probably find a lot of stuff for other models that will fit straight on to the Pathfinders. If you are after suspension stuff I can't offer any better recommendation than the ironman.com.au selection - I've driven my pathfinder over some of the worst roads in Australia (and the world) and my Ironman suspension has taken a beating and still works fine.

HappyCarGuy, try looking in your user control panel at settings that you can play with, other than that I don't have a lot of experience on this particular forum software but it'll be there somewhere... just play around and you'll work it out.

When you go into a section of the forum, there will be a blue bar above the threads. In it center left will be a Custom menu with a little down area. Click on that, go down to bottom filter called Time Frame, click on it, select 'view all', then just below click the box next to 'remember my filter settings', click the update filter at the bottom and you are all set.

Read all 4,620 threads carefully, there will be a test...

Hello all. New to the forums and new to the Pathfinder. However, I've been a long time Xterra owner (still love the vehicle). I bought a 2012 Silver Edition and still own the Xterra. Sometimes I fight with myself about what vehicle to take out with me. I'm originally from NJ but now located in Texas since I'm in the military. Looking to meet some people to go off-road with in the area. And if I don't, at leaste I'll get some great info off the site. I don't have any modifications done to the pathfinder yet, but I'm looking to start.

Thanks for having me.

Hi all,

i am as my screen name suggests a 4x4 noob. Got my very first big boys vehicle yesterday and keen to start hitting the bush.

Been scouring the forum for any information i can about this sport/lifestyle. Any pointers or handholding is most welcome - lets just keep the hand holding to a minimum dont want the wife getting the wrong idea. A bit about my 4x4 its a 93 R3m V6 terrano with aprox 120000 miles (192000km) on her. The drive home yesterday was interesting at highway speeds she seems to wag her arse and parked on level the arse end seems lower than the front fractionally. My background i grew up with 4 uncles who are mechanics/painters/tow truck drivers so have had an extensive apprenticeship, having said that i dont think i was listening most of the time.

I love to tinker with cars (much to my wifes dismay) so when my current dd chewed itself up i started looking for the next tinker toy, (wifes view point) she asked me what would it take for me to stop tinkering, the result my purchase yesterday, little does she know.

Looking for any like minded people in auckland area NZ to get out and about with, was contemplating going it alone but not comfortable with the idea of phoning home to ask the little lady for a tow. Anyway chaps thanks for allowing me to join, i promise you wont regret it... much!

Hello all!

I have owned my 94 for about 7 years. I bought it out of a police impound as a fill-in vehicle after my Honda died a painful death on a lonely stretch of I10, 50 miles from no where. It turned out to be my daily driver for about 4 years before it decided to have a few to many "personality" issues to be dependable.

So it sat on my driveway for a couple of years, moving ever so often to keep the HOA off my back. Truth is I just liked it to much to part with it.

About 5 months ago, I decided that I needed something to do so I started working on the Pathfinder. I never realized how much i would enjoy hanging around salvage yards and spending my weekends greasy and dirty. So far, YouTube and the NPORA forums have been my go to plan when i have questions. i figured i might as well join NPORA since Im on the site regularly.

When the 94 is done I will look for a R50 4x4 to clean up and lift, although my wife doesn't know about that part of my plan just yet. ;)

Hello, from east New Orleans. After years of driving the hard-body nissans pick-ups and wanting one I finally obtained a 1994 pathfinder. She has 189k miles on it seems to be fully loaded, leather, auto-lock, 5-speed, and the 10.5 kinda rims(new to these sizes). I thought I would get on here to see all the awesome tips and tricks to the 4x4 side of my new nissan adventure. The truck runs fine, I know a small exhaust leak is there, only paid 1k for it so I'm happy most things work on it still(a/c, alarm, 4x4). My first truck was an 89 nissan hardbody that is still being drivin by my uncle today, I have a 95 nissan pickup with 220k with everything still working very well. I guess the funniest thing about my new pathfinder is that this was for our new addition to the family (needed room for baby) and I actually had to ask the guy how do I use the 4x4, yes this is my first ever 4x4.

Thanks justus

Hi, I have just joined and I like what I see already..., especially with the site's promotion of good and friendly manners.

I have recently purchased my 1999 Pathfinder and have found out so far that there is very little available in the way of aftermarket accessories for this particular SUV. I have so far found a SFD kit and a 2" coil lift kit. Bumpers do not seem to exist.

I will be most interested to find out what others with this Pathfinder have done and how successful it has been for them. Aside from lift options , I would like to know what different wheel and tire combos have worked well. I am trying to decide between wider steelies and 31" or 32" tires or stock wheels and "pizza cutter" tires at 31" or 32" if available. I am hoping to avoid tire rub and the need for wheel spacers.

My ambition is not to make an extreme offroad machine, but rather an SUV which is better than stock and still enjoyable to take the family on a long road trip.

Once I begin to make some changes, I will post some pictures.
