gv280z
Sweet mine is an offroad package I wasn't sure..I've also got the map lamps too... Wow, the XE came really well appointed...these things must have started around the mid $20 thousands...

boothill2008
I've had 3 SE's, just worked out that way.....so no experience with XE's
txpath4x4
So I noticed one difference... The head rest, my 94 XE has solid headrest, while gv280z 94 SE has holes in the middle
Roo
I am very much partial to the XE, it's my first car so that may be why...
ahardb0dy
not sure if they all do it or not but the headrests (fronts) that were in my 94 have a ratchet feature to change the angle.
deadline
Well I have an XE with most of the extras I wanted so SE wouldn't make much of a difference. XE w/ LSD, Power locks, mirrors, windows, spare tire rack, roof rack, disc brakes in front, drum in rear Although a sun roof would be great! SkiBumBrian
XE, SE, doesn't seem to make much difference on the WD's. You see options spread all over the place. I just want a Nissan that has a GT-R badge on the back..... Yep
Goosevf_1
Power this and power that. I could care less. I like basic vehicles, less to go wrong. But SE got my vote because it comes with 31's. dont need to worry about speedo fluctuation with bigger tires, and the 8 speaker audio. Sounds great for 95, just added a sub, and swapped out the fronts for some jbls, other than that the stock speakers hold up. Im also a big fan of having a way to see the sky. +1 for sun roof. boothill2008
Love my SE's, I'm on my 3rd! Just put legos and BFG All Terrains back on my SE (Sorry MotoIQ, but the Volks racing wheels are still in the garage!). ;-)
R3DN1CK
Bought a SE model then stripped it... just to make XE owners cry. Lol!
wd21fan
The info I am putting below might have been discussed in this thread but at least I could not find it; so please excuse a newbie while I put in the following that I dug up. When you open the hood, near the passenger side hood hinge there is a vehicle identification plate. Right below the VIN is the 14 character model identifier. The 9th character tells whether it is xe or se. It is J for XE and P for SE. For example mine is WHLYD21DJFBU87 - 9th character is J meaning XE. Hope this helps someone new like me in quickly identifying XE/SE.

kdj
What years does this cover? I have a '96, '98 and a '03 and they are no. 4(X2) or 8 for the 9th character?

The one I posted earlier works for 1994, 1995. For 1996, the model identification number under the VIN/vehicle identification number on the identification plate uses the 6th character. The 6th character can be R, T or V. R is XE, T is SE and V is LE. Here is an example from 1996: TLPULRFR50EUA T-> Wagon (Manufacturer's descripton not mine :-) ) LP -> VG33E engine U -> U = 2 wheel drive, Z = 4 wheel drive L -> LH drive R -> R=XE, T=SE and V=LE F -> F=Manual transmission, A=Automatic transmission R50 -> Model E -> Multiport fuel injection system U -> U=Non California USA, V=California USA, N=Canada A -> Standard (no idea what the manufacturer means by standard) Edited April 3, 2016 by wd21fan
DRAGON64
My first Pathfinder is a `96 SE, so I am kind of partial. That being said, I would have preferred manual crank windows for more simplicity.

Al_BsPath
Yep love my SE with all the trimmings. It doesn't hurt to be spoiled if you don't mind being spoiled. HE HE HE!!!
Charlie_Brown
Love XE simplicity but I have to say being able to adjust side view mirrors with the push of a button has me envious along with stock 31s. Hate sunroof, nothing but problems and the rest of the electrical are unnecessary.
