Mrelcocko
Hey guys on the 3.3 it calls for 87, but would it hurt to put anything higher in it? I’m asking cause my girlfriend has over a dollar off a gallon and she has a 2000 Maxima that takes 92. XPLORx4
It does not hurt to use higher octane fuel in the 3.3L. It doesn't make it run any better, though, since the 3.3L is designed to run just fine using 87. The 3.5L is a higher-compression engine and is designed to run best using 91 or more. (It'll run on 87, but timing will be retarded to prevent detonation and performance/mpg will suffer.) If you can get premium for cheaper than 87, go ahead and use what's most affordable! Just don't ever use E85.
Nix
I stay in Kuwait. Been using EU Octane 95 for years now. Pathy is smooth compared to running on EU Octane 91. Once in a while I put in 98 just for the heck of it. EU ratings are 91/95/98, which are equivalent to US ratings of 87/91/93.
