Mizerita Posted March 27, 2021 Share Posted March 27, 2021 New member and just bought an 08 LE V8 to be used as a 3rd vehicle...mostly weekends with the family. We have a house on the Big Island in Hawaii...the best beaches require 4wd to get there. If it were someone else's money, what upgrades would you make to a stock LE v8 model to be able to off-road on the weekends but still be comfortable to take the kids on a 2 hour trip around the island? Other than the obvious radiator / trans issue which I've already addressed, initial thoughts are suspension upgrade, brake upgrade, upgraded headlights, etc. What's the best of the best for this model...would love to hear your thoughts. We've previously used a first gen stock Rubicon that we've outgrown. The island is full of Tacoma / 4runners / Jeeps...looking forward to trying something new.
