enochian
ABS light on after front CV axles replaced. Car still lurches forward sometimes. Any idea whats going with both of these?
XPLORx4
It’s likely that one of the abs wheel sensors or cables was damaged or disconnected when the axles were replaced. the lurching forward could be a number of things. A description of the specific conditions under which this happens would be helpful in providing a more accurate diagnosis

Slartibartfast
Lurches like the brakes are releasing, or lurches like the engine's pulling? +1 on a damaged ABS sensor or wiring, seems like that could be making the ABS do something stupid if the wheel speed signal is cutting out. enochian
Well it was doing that lurching thing even before I did the front CVs. Lurches like the brake releasing. Also the ABS wires and sensors look fine from the outside. Edited September 20, 2020 by enochian
XPLORx4
To determine if the lurching happens due to a malfunction in the braking system or drivetrain (transmission, driveshaft, etc), shift to neutral and try braking to a stop. As you slow to a stop, keep an eye on the RPM. Listen and feel for any abnormalities in the engine/drivetrain. The lurching could be a transmission issue or another issue that affects the engine idle RPM. Do you have a glowing CHECK ENGINE light?
Slartibartfast
If it is the brakes, and the ABS light is on, you need to get the code from the ABS system to see what it's unhappy about. Hopefully it can point you in the right direction. Edited September 22, 2020 by Slartibartfast
