mbro
Hey all, just a question, my seat belt light quit working so I pull the instrument panel to see if the bulb was burnt, and found that down the center of it are bulbs to indicate which gear your in. These had no bulbs in them, I had extras from the JY so put new bulbs in but they wont lightup, is there a fuse somewhere that might be blown I could replace? Looked in the fuse boxes but didn't see one for instrument panel, thought it would be nice to have this lite up. Thanks in advance for info. zakzackzachary
If you put in halogen bulbs, did you happen to try turning them around? I don't think they're bidirectional like LE-Diodes are.
Slartibartfast
Filament bulbs don't care about polarity, LEDs do. I'd check the wiring diagrams in the FSM to see where those get power. I assume they're run to either a switch in the shifter mechanism or the range sensor on the trans. I'd start with the EL section. It's also possible yours just wasn't fitted with that option. My '93 has an idiot light for low washer fluid with no bulb in it, but installing a bulb wouldn't do much because the wiring and the float sensor aren't present either. Mr_Reverse
The gear indicator lights only work with the automatic transmission models. If you have a manual trans, those sockets ate unused.
