Icantdo55
Thanks for the add. I'm working on a 180k 2002 3.5 pathfinder. Was bought from an auction so I have no history on truck. It starter turns it over at good speed but it labors to start, hot or cold. When running at idle if you punch gas in park it hesitates and small backfires through intake before it revs up. It lacks power. And once at operating temperature it turned over fine but would not start at all till it sat for 30 minutes. No codes. No Schrader valve so can't check fuel pressure. Timing jump? Any common issues I should start looking at?
01Pathmaker
Hmm, this is an interesting one. Timing jump would be unlikely as the 3.5 has a chain, not a belt. Have you checked the basics, like fuel filter, condition of the spark plugs, plug boots, etc? I've seen 2 temperamental R50's, with over 150k, with the original plugs, which were worn to death. After a thorough tune-up (plugs, boots, air & fuel filter, MAF & throttle body cleaning) they both ran great and were no longer hard to start.
