If you haven't downloaded your FSMs, better do it soon...

Was looking up some info about an Xterra, and came across what amounts as a cease-and-desist notice from Nissan NA for NICO to discontinue providing FSMs to the community:

A shame it's come to this. While I understand intellectual property, Nissan clearly no longer supports an "Enthusiast" owner base by enforcing this. While I'm not a particular fan of the NICO Pathfinder/QX4 forum, NICO in general has been a significant resource. Hopefully this move by NNA doesn't dwindle down NICO's value.

You may want to download your FSMs very soon. Looks like NICO has some on archive paths still, plus instructions:

I understand with the newer cars, but why not let them host the old ones. Like 2005 and prior or something.

Totally agree! In fact, excellent idea...probably should toss it on that NICO thread? Id like to think they could make the case for keeping some info around.

Besides, the 05+ FSM exploded into like 3x the number of chapters. I swear the rear view mirror has its own section.

Thanks, I’ll take it (DM’d you). I’m able to get TownDawgR50’s as well (2001). Annoyingly, there are slight variations between all those years (2001, 2001.5, 2002 & 2003-4) but having the 2 adjacent years should cover 95% of it. Thanks!

I agree with statements above and I really I hate to see this, but I also cannot say that it was totally unexpected.

And aside from simply not "taking anything away" from or just appearing to "copy", NICO... this is exactly one of the reasons that we did not choose to host them here at NPORA.

Does anyone have the copy of the FSM for a 1991? I believe I usually used the FSM for 1993 or 1994 because they didn't have 1991. If anyone has it Ill send you my email if you could share. Thanks!!
