I joined this site a while back but have just been lurking and reading up on a lot of questions I've had. I bought a green (my favorite color) 1996 R50 SE with a manual transmission in August of 1996 that has had quite a few issues and I wasn't sure I was actually going to keep it until about a week ago. I found another 1996 here in Missoula for $600 and bought it yesterday. It is black (not my favorite color) and has quite a lot of items mine needs like a clutch and rebuilt transfer case with two years on them. It also has the factory rear swing-away tire carrier and driving lights which my original one doesn't. All in all I think I made a good buy, now I need to go over both of them and decide which chassis is the keeper.

I want to thank all of the people here, I have learned so much about my Pathfinder since I joined up. I think you all have helped me to decide to keep her. I'm going to go slow for sure and try to not cut corners, I'm in no real hurry to fix either as long as my first one keeps on truckin'.

So happy spring to you all, 'tis the right time (and weather) to get my hands dirty. :)

Sounds like you've got a lot of parts to make a truck out of! While you're checking the chassis, be sure and check around the front strut towers. They're a common enough rust spot that Nissan did a recall a while back.

Thank you I will check that soon.
