oldmantox
i'm getting a noise from what sounds like the front right hub only when in 4wd thought it might be the auto hubs, so swapped them out for some manual ones but still getting the same noise, have also replaced wheel bearings. Hubs are engaging and disengaging ok . When i put into 4wd drives fine for awhile then the noise appears, if you try and do a hard right hand turn it seems lock up. could it be the cv or spider joint is no good??? thanks for any info in advance OLDMANTOX
Slartibartfast
Making noise on hard turns does sound like a CV issue. When you say lock up, you mean the wheel itself locks or the steering locks?

adamzan
You aren't using the 4wd on dry ground are you? Because it will bind in that scenario. Mine is making odd noises in 4wd from the front end, almost like a whooping sound. If I find the source I'll post it here.
