SweetCoolG
My 88’ started having hard starts and drivability problems. Sometimes it’ll start right up, other times it’ll try to start but lope and die then there’s times it won’t do anything but turn over. Driving sometimes it’ll run damn near perfect. Lately it sputters and if I put my foot in it the power light will come on. It died on me twice and wouldn’t restart, I ran the battery dead trying to start it,I had it towed home and after charging the battery it started. I then drove it up to the gas station, and it died. I had it towed again. Any ideas where to start? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Slartibartfast
The power light coming on when you floor it is normal--the trans goes into "power mode" if you floor it (changes the shift points). The rest, obviously, not so much. I don't know the older TBI models very well, but the next time it won't start, check for the basics. Make sure it's got spark, make sure the fuel pump's kicking on. Make sure your fuse links are in good shape and the connectors are tight/clean. Intermittent makes me think it's probably electrical. You can also try running codes on your ECU to see if it has any idea what's wrong. And yeah, lots of guys have issues with tapatalk!
