I was horrified when I removed the center differential cover on my Subaru transmission due to seepage at the gasket. A scrub and rinse with diesel took a lot of it out but I still can't believe how nasty it was in there. Here's some before and after pics. The rest of the inside was likely just as nasty but since the flush it's MUCH better and I'm comfortable with letting the gear oil take care of the rest.
