My friend has offered to sell me his 1999 Nissan Frontier for $3000, although I think I could talk him down to $2500 because he needs cash ASAP.

The info I have so far:

It has 300,000km, new distributor, plugs and wires. He recently put on Toyota rims and new tires. May need brakes soon.

He’s lost the keys in though(long story), how much would it cost to get replacements or a new lock cylinder and keys from Nissan???

Is this a good deal? Thoughts?

Check if it takes a standard key or a chip key. I haven't messed with this myself but I've read that Nissan got into the chip key racket in '99.

I called the dealer. It’s a standard key with no chip.

Is $2500-$3000 a good deal for a Frontier with 300000k?

I don't know a lot about Frontiers, but I'd say it's a good deal as long as it's relatively clean.

Well, it seemed like a good deal until I opened the radiator cap. The coolant was all milky and frothy...NOPE!

He did however have a set of black Toyota rims for his truck. We tested them on mine, same bolt pattern, same size, they look fantastic! I bought them for $100. Not bad I say.

Now I just need to think tires. I still have a lot of tread left on my All season M+S tires, after the winter we had last year though, I’m considering a good set of winter tires for now. (Another post)
