Protocol.
Hi. I've noticed some side to side movement of my front drivers side wheel. I've taken a look at the wheel assembly breakdown, and it appears that the bearing retainer ring will be the culprit. If I require new bearings as well. Are the inner and outer bearings the same? I've regreased them in the past, but that was a couple years ago and I have a hard time remembering if they were exactly the same or not.
mjotrainbrain
Inner and outer are different. If the wheel moves when you wiggle it the wheel bearings are probably worn out.
Protocol.
yeah the wheel is moving and the bearing sounds really crusty. the spindle nut seemed fine when i tore it apart just now. Do you think if tightening it to get through the week will be fine?
