CortlandCH Posted May 23, 2017 Share Posted May 23, 2017 I replaced the old Bose head unit with an upgrade when changing out the sound system for my 01 LE Pathy, but after doing so, it seems the heated seat on the driver side doesn't work anymore. The passenger side works, and I checked the fuse in the cabin for heated seats, but to no avail. Pulled apart the dash to see if there were any loose connections, nope. Pulled out the seat, nope. Everything is connected, any ideas? If anything I'll get out the multimeter... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Citron Posted May 23, 2017 Share Posted May 23, 2017 All I can say is I would have started with the multimeter, seems much easier then pulling out the seat and taking the dash apart. Start at the seat, check for power and ground,check continuity of the heater. See where that takes you. Whatever you don't have, work your way back from there until you do have it. You can confirm in the FSM, but I confirmed it the other month when I put switches in my 04 (mine doesn't have heated seats, but truck is pre-wired for them and I plan to add elements). Is the blue harnesses connected to the driver's switch? http://www.nicoclub.com/manuals/Pathfinder/2001.5_Pathfinder/el.pdf, see EL-180. Pin 1 on the blue harness should be hot at On or Start. Check continuity on Pin 4 for ground. Pull the switch and check for continuity between 1-2 (low) and 1-3 (high). Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'll pull apart the trim after work and test those. I do know for a fact that the blue IS connected to the drivers side, but I should definitely check to see if it has any sort of power running through it. So far, everything checks out. I'm wondering if quite possibly the LIGHT in the switch itself gave out. Don't be sorry. I just wonder if you're secretly a Nissan tech. Kind of odd yours would fail just at the same time as disconnecting it. But, you do have power at both the harness under the dash and the harness under the seat? And ground is good? And haha, no, not a Nissan tech. Just someone with too much time on my hands, constantly taking stuff apart (today was the roof rack...). It was cool enough out to test if the seat heated up without me thinking I was just sitting on hot leather.
