Norcal200486
Hey guys I'm having a problem with my alternators going out after muddin. I have a lifetime warranty on the part but it's a pain in the ass to keep changing it. Does anyone know if they sale a bracket to relocate the alternator to top of engine? Or some how water proof the alternator
Cuong Nguyen
All custom if you relocate it. Either stop mudding or make a MUD guard for it.
onespiritbrain
Get your splash guards put back on. Or better make you some skid plates that will replace the splash guards. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
snowboard419
I have had very poor luck with reman alternators in another vehicle I own, not lasting longer than 3 months or so. I replaced the rectifier and voltage regulator myself and have not had another problem. +100 on the splash guards.
RF600
Going with the cheap rebuilds is not the best. Sure you get a lifetime warranty. I have said this before. It means you spend your lifetime replacing it. Get one from a Napa store or similar. Either that or take it to a shop to rebuild it.
adamzan
I bought a Delco Remy alternator, sure it was twice the price of the parts store rebuilt, but it has lasted 3 years (of wheeling seasons) so far...
