maddmark1981
She just shut down on the road going easy same as always. Wont start, I can't hear anything in the gas tank either so I'm thinking it's the fuel pump. How can I know for sure without tearing it out of the tank? 97Pathfinderman
My dads 97 was doing the same thing about a year ago and it ended up being the mass air flow sensor. Is your check engine light on? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Kingman
First thing to do is check the fuses and relay. If those are all good, lay under the tank while someone turns the key on and smack it with a hammer. If the pump comes on its either a bad pump or bad connections on top of the tank. djratlif
You can always pull the connector behind the passenger rear wheel and hot wire the thing to see if it is the pump or the power supply to the pump. Turns out that connector actually rotted out on mine and I just needed to replace the connectors.
maddmark1981
OK, pump works fine, when it decides not to start I just have to take the gas cap off and it will then start, I looked underneath and I can see the fuel line I spliced into is leaking a bit but more so I think she's getting air in the line or not enough of... one or the other, Sent from my LG-D852 using Tapatalk
maddmark1981
I'm going to fix the line, put a new fuel filter in and then I need to check my line that supplies air Sent from my LG-D852 using Tapatalk

maddmark1981
Where's the carbon canister? What does it look like? Thanks Sent from my LG-D852 using Tapatalk
Cuong Nguyen
Big black plastic container located behind the intake airborne on driver's fender well. Vapor line goes to firewall along with rear brakes I believe Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
