PathfinderJA
Anyway.. back on track/ Forgot to post a pic of the lift kit Side windows inserts added Added a rear view mirror camera combo. This worked out fantastic, i'm really glad I went with this one instead of adding an ugly monitor to the dash. Works great. Just snaps over existing mirror and hide the wires in the lining Edited August 26, 2015 by PathfinderJA
PathfinderJA
Here is a pic of another Jamaican Pathfinder I spotted. Can't say I love the riim choice, but to each his own. PathfinderJA
My spotlights stopped working so I headed over to Xtreme to see if it was electrical because I had just changed the bulbs when I got it.We soon discovered the reason... Both bulbs had swollen up and blown. I had never seen bulbs do this. Anyone know why?Anyway, since we had the the spotlights pulled down I decided to see if they would take a HID upgrade, Thankfully the factory Bosch housing could. So Xtreme set forth hooking Buggy up.I wanted the same shade and wattage as the headlights which are super white. We matched the shade but the wattage was off. Headlights are 35 and the spots are 55. PathfinderJA
I then installed some LED roof lights (these will be moved to the back of the new roof rack when I get my light bar)At night they came alive... They are little but they are tallawah (as we say in JA)
PathfinderJA
Then it was time to repaint. I decided against the stock paint. i wanted something lighter. We ended up with this. The sticker on the door says the original colour was Blue Jade (FL1)But I settled on Aegean Blue Pearl (TH5) Brighter than the colour it has now This pathy pic was the inspiration. This was a low budget spray, out here that means no spray booth, early morning, using a hose to spray down the ground to keep dust away. Hey, what can I tell you.. it's the way of the tropics.. but no, we still don't live in trees.
PathfinderJA
And that catches you up to where we are now. Lift kit and roof rack added. Next is the light bar which I hope to do in a month or so and I just bought this off ebay and i'm waiting on it to arrive to be installed. Will probably spray it black It should look like this but not sure I can match back the dashboard blue. It's from the right hand drive Japanse variant the Terrano. But it should work just fine and has the iconic pathy shape. Also want to invest in a system like this. Maybe not this exact one, but one like it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/TPMS-Wireless-4-Sensors-Tire-Pressure-Monitoring-System-with-LCD-Display-/331555262045?hash=item4d323bce5d&vxp=mtr Edited August 26, 2015 by PathfinderJA

PathfinderJA
Future plans? right now, my pocket won't allow me to dream about anything more just yet. I just plan to enjoy her for a bit and then eventually bigger rims and maybe bigger shocks and more offroad capability.. but again... wallet cringes at just the thought. i will be spraying the section of teh frame now visible above the steps black so it will disappear a bit better and moving the now hanging muffler tip back closer to the now higher body. Visible in previous pics from the other side. But it's time to just enjoy now that the exterior matches the cleaness of the interior. PathfinderJA
Very clean. Do your window visors block half of your passenger side mirror too? ha Actually the ones I got taper down near the mirror, so I actually don't notice them at all now. The A/c is fully functional and I actually don't drive it with the windows down so the visors are really for looks more than practicallity for me. PathfinderJA
Thinking off entering this year's Jamaica Off road challenge. This is a video highlight of last year's own, in case anyone is interested in seeing what we get up to down here. The obstacle course at the end looks like fun. PathfinderJA
I'm happy to report that I got the centre bonnet insert and all is again right in the worldI've identified the next area I think I would like to focus on. In my attempt to return buggy to her former glory, I would like to replace all the old cracking factory rubber.Initial checks indicate that the prices are higher than I ever imagined for the individual pieces all around. So i'll have to acquire them in pieces over time. Until then going to invest in a bottle of Rubber trim reviver and see if that helps conceal the gaps for now.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Classic-Nissan-Rubber-Trim-Reviver-Protector-Windscreen-Door-Boot-Seal-/171667282455?hash=item27f82ada17
teixeira
wow, that's a lot of work done to it and with time it'll be new again with so much dedication. Congrats Nissan parts are really expensive, always were, can't undertand why... That rubber reviver could be a way to fix it although I don't quite understand how does it work and where to place it... PathfinderJA
Thanks for the kind words guys, it's appreciated. It's a labour of love for me now. SO SOME UPDATES: Got the under carriage greased over the weekend. Think i'll get it done again in a week or so to make sure the squeaks I continue to hear are there to stay and not just because it was poorly doneI also had the muffler tip lifted:Beforeand after. I wanted it sprayed black but they ran out of black spray. WIll probably buy a can and do it myself at a later date.
PathfinderJA
I also fitted a light bar this past weekend. So I Installed a light bar over the weekend. It works great I chose a 32" bar, nothing wider would fit the rack and still have bar to attach. Went with a mix of flood and spot.we drilled some holes in the rackThen he fit the barAfter that he ran the wires along the rack and secured with tie straps. PathfinderJA
We will be going back to rewire with a thicker gauge wire and run the wire through the tailgate. When this was done originally, the run was too long and the bar was not getting enough wattage, so only 2/3 of the lights worked. the shorter run through the door solved that problem but I don't like that look and don't want to drill the roof. PathfinderJA
And the results Base model. All lights offHeadlights and spotlights (Both with HID 55watts ballasts)Headlights/spots and Light barLight bar , no headlights or spotlights. You can see the cut off. Angling the bar down anymore won't help because it's so far back on the roof (the way i wanted it) that the roof cuts off the drop down effect./Pathfinder/20150905_190455%201000x5621x_zpsyoi9mkie.jpg[/img]I'm very happy with the results, It's a wall of light.. almost makes me wish for an islandwide power cutThe next phase will include moving the two smaller led light I had on the roof to the front grille, there are already purpose built mounts already on the bar for it. Secondly, putting a smaller ligtht bar at the back of the van.
