"In the front of the engine bottom in front of the oil pan but behind the lower pulley hormanic balancer . Its a magnatic and sences the rotation of the crankshaft usely easy to replace you may need to remove some splash pans from the under carrage to get to it but it makes a big differance in how the vehicle runs check for codes first and make sure this is the problem if it is there will be a code for it P0335 -P0349 depending on whats wrong with it but it wil be in that range". The above explination is for a crank position sensor, but is a general definition as the sensors can be placed in different locations(front or back of the crank).
