BigMike
what is it like a side to side thing or a back and forth motion?
jj big shoe
Jack up one front wheel, grab it and see if you can move it side to side or up and down a lot. If so, you have worn out steering components and should replace them asap. Depending on the severity of the shaking it could be that your tires are out of balance. Try to find one of those national tire chain stores that offer free inspection and get them to diagnose it for you.

88pathoffroad
Have you had your tires balanced recently? Check that...
GrimGreg
Did you check your ball joints or compression rods? When they are shot they can make the front end feel all wiggly.
Guest eaj
had all tire balanced today, still violent shaking, at tires plus, they looks at the steering tie rods, etc, all they could come up with is that the CV boot was missing - could this be it? again the shaking is intermittant 30 to 45 mph could it be in the tranny further diagnosis??? GrimGreg
The missing boot wouldn't do anything in normal driving. You said they checked the tie rods, etc...what's the etc? Did they check if any of the rims were bent? I highly doubt it would be the tranny, it would stop working before it would cause vibration like that. 93blkpathr
Sounds like you're developing a resonance somewhere. I've heard that problems with the driveshaft can cause vibration problems. Something to do with the carrier bearing, I think.

revgolem
could also be the TPS. if it has a worn spot (30-45 is about where it would show up too) it would send the wrong voltage signal to the computer, basically making it fight itself and making the mixture too rich, then too lean and back again. most of the time, it won't set a code... as far as the computer is concerned the signals are plausible, just not right. is it a manual or AT? if it's AT then that's a whole new set of possibilities.
