Earth1
Are there any replacement tie rods that are better than the original stock parts? Anything particular to look for? I've seen some on ebay, but I don't really know what to look for. I want some beefier stuff to accompany my new centerlink.
MaritimeMan
Moog makes some solid parts. My recomendation is to find one with a lifetime warrenty, keep the boxes and reciept, and take em back every time they go.
BigMike
i got Moog with the lifetime warrenty and they are nice. mine came with grease fittings so you can grease them up. same with the upper ball joints.
88pathoffroad
MOOG parts are made by the "Three-Five Company" in Japan, same company that makes a lot of other generic and off-brand parts like TRW. Overall, I've never seen any tie rods that are better or worse than the stock units, except for price. They're pretty much all the same and have the exact same design. Only difference is that some come with grease zerks, which allows you to make a nice greasy mess out of your steering knuckle and centerlink after they get greased. Basically, new tie rods are new tie rods. If the MOOG ones come with some sort of warranty, then feel free to get those. Me, I'm just going to run with the Ebay bargain brand and not worry about it. Shoot, 4 for $57 shipped is unbeatable by ANY auto parts store or dealership.

Earth1
Right on. That's kinda what I was thinking. I found some at a local auto parts store for $15 & $18, and they have a liffetime warranty. I'll just grab some of those.
