Sorry, but would like to find out how to find out who is running 35" tires. Is there a link with-in the site with this info? Been looking, but can't find what I'm looking for. I know I should just stick with 33's when buying some, but currently running 31's. The reason I'm asking is because I can get some 35's with rims for $450. Trying to save some money. I know I'll have to do some fender trimming, but curious how much. With the 3"+3" lift, looks like they could fit, but not so much off-roading flexability will occur.

Thanks for the info everyone!

it will totally depend on the offset, width, and how much you want to trim. :)

I am running 33x12.5 tires on 15x10 rims with a VERY negative offset. because the offset is so negative I had a lot of clearancing to do even with about a 3+4 lift (around 7" total right now). i have trimmed stock fender flares an the tires still stick out about 3-4 inches out each side.

I could easily run 35x12.5 if i went less aggressive with the offset, and I plan on doing so on my next set of tires.

I had to clearance and trim the pinch seam on the rear of the front fender wells and then hammered back some of the sheet metal and welded it back together further back and undercoated it. Completely unnoticeable from the inside of the truck and increases the front tire clearance massively through corners. I also cut the whole front of the fender off in front of the tire along the line with the bottom of the corner light (to make a wrap around hi-clearance custom bumper later down the road).

I also trimmed the rear but not so much as it stuffs the 33s as is with just some trimming in the bottom corners (front and rear) of the rear fender. Very little was taken off here.

I also run 28.8" tire steering stops for absolute maximum steering angle and even when bumping around on the trails I NEVER rub anymore. :) Hope that helps

Going to 35" tires with stock gearing with give you terrible acceleration power. These things aren't known to be that peppy to begin with, much less with 4" oversized tires

To get things back 'normal' for driveability you'd need to to re-gear the axles which is $500 a set, generally speaking. You'd need two. Front and Rear. Not to mention cost of installing the gears.

or you could do a vg33e swap and leave your gears alone. that's what i did. i have more power than stock and im running really heavy 33x12.5s. my highway rpms dropped from around 2500 to around 1800 at 105 km/h down the highway. highway mileage actually improved, city is a little worse. i did my whole vg33e swap for about 300$. just something to think about.

Nefarious,

Did you do the swap yourself or have someone do it for ya? I'd be willing to pay someone that much or even alittle more to do it. I'd even help out if I could find someone to do that for me around here. I'm almost tempted to say screw it & get them anyway & do some trimming. Hopingto do a SAS in the future anyway. Hell, if I'm going to do an engine swap, might as well go with a 350 & call it good.

The tires & wheels I'm looking @ are 35x13.5x15 BFG Krawlers & have 60% tread left. They are mounted on aluminum wheels. Reminds me of the M/T Classic II's. $450.00/OBO

I did the swap myself and I'm currently doing it on my girlfriends truck again now. It really transforms a wd21 into what I think it always should have been. Anyways I would help ya but I'm sure you live pretty far away (on mobile, cant see location)

I don't mean to be a negative Nancy but I hope you guys know the more negative your offset, the more stress and pressure are multiplied and applied against the hub / wheel bearing assembly. It's like a giant crowbar prying against it.

Sounds like a good deal. If you plan on SAS'ing then what do you have too worry about. I wouldn't run them on stock steering unless you want too keep it on the street or very mild trails.

You run man. And a sbf might be easy9er to do then the chev. But idk, I've never done it.

Okay, so now I'm thinking about getting some tires from Treadwright. 265/70R/17's. So, my biggest issue now is finding 17'' wheels with 6 bolt & a 4" center to fit around my manual hubs. Frusterating! So I found some wheels off a Ford F150. The only issue is the center hole is 3.5". I'm wondering if I should get them & also go purchase some wheel spacers so I can use the wheels. Getting all four wheels for $20.00. Going to paint them with beliner paint & slap the new tires on & go. Just need to get a 5th for the matching spare....

Thoughts & concerns?

Thanks for everyones input.

Well, I have someone selling 17" 6 lug Level 8 wheels.

Says it fits Silverado 1500. Would that work? Asking $500 for all four. Wasn't really wanting to spend that much. Guess I can just stick with 31x10.5's on my Leggos. Was wanting to go bigger.

Treadwright doesn't have molds now for the 33X12.5X15's anymore. That's what I originally wanted to go with. Looking for something comparable to 33's. They have 265/70R/17's clearanced out for $99 a tire. If I could find 33X12.5X15's for that cheap, I would go that route. They don't even have to be a name brand either. No luck finding anything on my end.

Alright everyone....

Hope I'm not going to shoot myself in the foot...

I"m purchasing some 35's on D shape black wheels. 16x10 I believe.

Planning on trimming the fenders, rolling them so there isn't a sharp cutting edge & go from there.

Going to talk to a guy I know to see what it'll take for him to help me convert the rear Pathy axle off my parts Pathy for the front SAS.

Might be a long process to get done. Obviously won't be done until I get anther daily driver.

Will take pics & keep everyone posted.

OK,

I went ahead & got 35's. They are on the Pathy now with new half shafts, upper & lower ball joints, new inner/outer tie rods, & put new ProComp shocks all around. Did all of this last Thurs & Friday. Now I have to take to the shop & get an allignment done & get the steering wheel adjusted so it sits correctly, instead of cocked. You should know what I mean when holding onto the wheel. Thinking I need to have new bushing/rubber groumets replced on the center link. some creaking & popping. Guessing the torsion bars are cranked too much & it's the lower control arms.

I was surprised that I didnt' have to trim fenders at all with 35's. Yes, I will have to once I decide to do some hard off-roading. I believe the rear tires do rub if I take a sharp quicker turn into my driveway. Tempted to buy 33's once I get new tires. Then I don't have to worry about it. It is nice to have alot of these SNOBBY JEEP owners doing double takes when seeing me drive down the road. They can kiss my A$$!

I use tinypic, you upload the pictures into a folder that you create, after they upload you click on the pic, and on the left side of the page there are different codes depending on where you want to attach, or post the pic, for the forum you choose the one that says forums & message boards, copy the code and just paste it in here, easy

so are you running the 3" body lift and suspension for 35's?

Like to see how they look on the pathfinder compared to how they looked on my old hardbody, yes I know the body sits higher on the HB, just curious to see the comparison
