ferrariowner123
I would get a set of EBC pads, would be a healthy upgrade over stock, and the best part is the just drop right in. Thats what i'd do. Definitely no disrespect for wanting to stick to OEM. Give Alkorahil a call. He can should be able to hook you up with some OEM pads. -Kyle
adamzan
I believe the stock pads are Akebono.
fastpakr
Yep, per Rock Auto the stock pads are ceramic Akebono's. Either ACT691 or ASP691.
dududuckling
I've tried EBC yellow and green pads, and EBC slotted rotors. EBC pads are more expensive and are no better than OEM. Braking distance is still the same, and OEM pads last a whole lot longer than these EBCs. Edited March 10, 2013 by dududuckling
sonyslave
Thanks all for the help and input. I wanted to stick with stock because based on what I've read the manufacturers put a lot of effort into optimizing pad performance and rotor life, often their oem pads offer the best trade off between the two. I originally checked rock auto, just wanted to confirm with others that the Akebono brand was the stuff Nissan would use. Thanks!!
Alkorahil
Hitachi, Akebono and Textar all supply pads to Nissan. If i may recomend for consideration......Nissan Motorsports has a front set of pads I used on my own truck when I did my brakes/rotors last year and I love them. I also like that they have them on clearance for $32.48. (as of last week) The supplier for them was Axxess. I can say they have a noticably better 'bite' Downside is they make much more brake dust than the Nissan OEM.
sonyslave
Thanks for passing that along Alkorahil! I'll check out those Nismo pads, great price! I try to stick with Japanese made replacement parts, usually they last longer than other brands.
